Won on the Flat (1m2½f, good to soft) when trained in France. Ran well when 3½L third on just her second start for this trainer, at Exeter (2m2½f, heavy) last time. Can probably improve, and will need to if she is to defy this initial mark.

Justified favouritism to win a Catterick novices' hurdle (1m7½f, good to soft) by 3L last time. Penalised for that, but 7lb claimer now assigned and she should again be competitive.

Improved on her four Irish starts when an unchallenged 7L winner at Kelso (2m2f, good) on her stable/handicap debut last week. Penalised 7lb for that, but looked to have at least that in hand, so no surprise if she proves good enough to follow up.

Has not impressed at times with her jumping in three starts for this yard, despite winning the first of those at Musselburgh. Needs to improve on that front, and also has a bit to prove on ground slower than good.

Forecasts

Another Theatre (15/8), Peters Cousin (9/4), Its All A Lark (5/2), Iconic Belle (10/1), Valse Au Taillons (12/1), Gold Runner (20/1)

Verdict

Peters Cousin may have sneaked in a pound or two under the radar here and can again go well, but 2m might not play to her strengths quite as well as fellow Kelso winner IT'S ALL A LARK, who is taken to defy a penalty. Another Theatre is respected, while Iconic Belle, who will need to hurdle more fluently, and Valse Au Taillons, can't be ruled out.
  1. Its All A Lark
  2. Peters Cousin
  3. Valse Au Taillons
