Solid and consistent in a number of runs since the summer. To be respected from a leading yard and entitled to make the shortlist.

From powerful owner/trainer combination and likely to improve on disappointing run at Fairyhouse last month finishing down the field in a novice contest over 2m4f.

Off the mark at the third time of asking for connections over hurdles when landing his maiden hurdle here on St Stephens Day. Open to significant improvement in this Grade.

Has generally disappointed powerful connections in four hurdle starts to date. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.

£210,000 buy after winning lone point-to-point at Bartlemy. Success in a Navan bumper has been followed by a number of innocuous efforts. Worth a market check in first-time blinkers.

Course winner who has been running well in defeat in a couple of decent starts over hurdles but may find life difficult in this company.

Landed a 17-runner novice hurdle at Roscommon over 2m4f on good ground in October but has failed to build on the win in a series of gloomy efforts since. Plenty to prove.

One from seven over hurdles with his sole win coming in a handicap here in May. Liable to find a couple stronger in a contest this competitive.

Forecasts

Eclat Des Mottes (7/2), Invincible Cave (9/2), Presented Well (5/1), Denwork (11/2), The White Volcano (6/1), Lord In Red (7/1), Count Simon (8/1), British Art (16/1)

Verdict

Although disappointing at Fairyhouse last month, the Willie Mullins-trained ECLAT DES MOTTES can get his career back on track here by taking this novice hurdle contest adding to his maiden win in August on debut. Course winner on St Stephens Day, Presented Well under Hugh Morgan can prove to be the biggest challenger, while second last time out, Count Simon and Noel Meades Lord In Red are worthy of consideration.
  1. Eclat Des Mottes
  2. Presented Well
  3. Count Simon
