Claims on the pick of his form and positive that the gelding has been placed over C&D before now. Races from 4lb below his best winning mark, so worth a betting check despite top weight.

Multiple winner on turf but is 0-11 on the AW and needs to find a bit more on this occasion. Suited by the trip and gone well for today's rider in both his last two starts. Place claims if at his best.

Unexposed on the AW but needs to step up considerably on the level of form he showed in his each of his first two outings for his current yard.

Solid pedigree and interesting that he's being persevered with as a four-year-old. Might have been in need of the run last time and more can be expected; but was an expensive favourite to follow and has a bit to prove in a first-time visor.

Dropping to a handy mark but has been inconsistent lately. Suited by 7f but others more appear to hold more convincing claims.

Lost his way towards the end of his time with Richard Fahey and not much to take from his debut run for his new connections last time out. Others preferred.

Won five times on the AW but never at this course and plenty to prove now he returns after a lengthy absence. Gelded since last seen out but a big improvement is required.

Hinted at a return to form before posting a below par run at Lingfield just after Christmas. Has a C&D win to his name so has to be respected as one that can potentially raise his game. Worth considering.

Won his last two starts in good style and comes into this at the top of his game. Up 6lb for his latest win and a personal best now required. (The rider's claim helps at the weights.) Not discounted.

Held by Grey Destiny last time but has a chance of reversing the form on the revised terms. Has gone well at this course previously and benefits from the assistance of one of the leading AW riders. Place claims once more.

Well held when finishing behind Global Humor last time and faces a stiff test in his attempt to reverse the form on the same terms.

Forecasts

The British Lion (11/4), Miracle Garden (5/1), Global Humor (11/2), Grey Destiny (13/2), Dollar Value (13/2), The King's Steed (15/2), Gabrial The Tiger (10/1), Mount Wellington (12/1), Sporting Bill (16/1), Bouclier (28/1), Deadly Accurate (66/1), Gabrial's Kaka (100/1)

Verdict

GLOBAL HUMOR comes with risks attached and his latest start needs to be forgiven. However, the gelding had previously looked like he was back on the right path and the return to this C&D is very much in his favour. Gabrial The Tiger also makes plenty of appeal on the pick of his efforts and is well worth a betting check at least. Mount Wellington is on a handy mark and also has positive course form to his name. Dollar Value and Sporting Bill complete the shortlist.
