0-4 over fences but latest effort at Naas (2m, good to yielding) was best so far, and a repeat/improvement will leave him in the mix again.
Career-best when winning novice chase at this track (2m, good) 11 days ago, diverts attention to handicapping now and likely has a big say in the outcome.
Won a Down Royal handicap chase when last seen in November 2017 over similar trip. Only 4lb here now, though long absence has to raise some concerns. Betting should tell a tale.
All four career wins have come over hurdles, not disgracing himself in either code recently and with mark declining and first-time blinkers added, cannot be discounted back over fences.
Improving over fences, off the mark at Thurles (2m2f, good to firm) in November and nosed out of it at Tramore (2m, soft) on New Year's Day. Expected to mount another solid challenge now switching to handicap.
Sole chase success from 16 attempts came at Ayr in February 2016. Some fair form thereafter in defeat but showed little last month over hurdles at Haydock when back from a 574-day absence. Treat with caution for now.
Both chase wins over this sort of trip, including earlier this month from 5lb lower at Clonmel. Entitled to give this a go and has run well at the track before. Contender.
Twice scored over fences in France, modest enough form in this country over hurdles however and unable to sustain challenge at Naas (2m, yielding) last time when tackling these obstacles. Runs off the same mark now.
Forecasts
All The Chimneys (11/4), D'bru Na Boinne (11/4), Dylrow (9/2), Dakota Moirette (5/1), Customer (8/1), Baby Jake (16/1), Crazywork De Vassy (20/1), Captain Hox (28/1)
The likeable veteran All The Chimneys is in good tune and has to be respected following a win at Clonmel, but the market won't miss his chance. Instead it might be the right time to side with D'BRU NA BOINNE for a chase success. He's improving with experience in this field and was just denied at Tramore last time. Further improvement in the jumping and he should be off the mark soon. Dylrow can also get in the mix while Crazywork De Vassy needs a close look in the market after an absence.
- D'bru Na Boinne
- All The Chimneys
- Dylrow
