Not at his best over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time, but two previous efforts over shorter at that venue were respectable. Has been dropped 2lb and ought to be thereabouts over a trip which will suit.

Has caught the eye in narrow defeat on last two starts at Newcastle. A 2lb rise seems a little harsh, but he is a strong traveller who has sound claims.

FIne efforts in ½L third at Lingfield and when beaten even less in finishing runner-up off this mark over C&D. Knocking on the door and goes on the short list

Landed a 1m Southwell maiden in January and was making his handicap debut when fourth of six, beaten only 2¼L, at Newcastle at the beginning of this month. Steps up in trip off 1lb lower.

Off the mark at the third attempt when winning a 1m½f novice contest at Wolverhamton. Up in trip for handicap debut and is clearly worthy of respect.

Best run so far when second of 11 over C&D earlier this month. Needs to take another step forward off the same mark, but could well do so.

Forecasts

Space Bandit (5/2), Global Art (3/1), Dommersen (4/1), Involved (6/1), Cuillin (6/1), Derek Duval (8/1)

Verdict

An interesting contest in which chances can be given to all six runners. Cuillin shaped well over C&D last time and Involved is much respected on handicap debut. Space Bandit may be suited by the step up in trip and Global Art has been threatening to get his head in front, but preference is for DOMMERSEN, a strong traveller who gives the impression he has a race or two in him off this sort of mark. Top-weight Derek Duval will also have his supporters.
  1. Dommersen
  2. Global Art
  3. Space Bandit
