Fine strike rate of 5-11 on the AW and probably needed the run, his first since being gelded, at Kempton recently. Down 2lb and is a C&D winner so clearly merits respect.
Better on the AW than turf, winning three times in six starts, including at this venue. Completely out of form last year, however, and needs to bounce back after quite a long spell on the sidelines.
Raised 2lb to this mark when scoring over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in November, and ran creditably when fourth of seven, not beaten far, over 2m at Lingfield last month. Should make his presence felt.
One win in eight races on the Flat and that was on turf. Only fair effort at Southwell last time and change in surface, step up in trip and 1lb lower mark need to have a positive effect.
Forecasts
West Coast Flyer (6/4), Cry Wolf (13/8), Ezanak (9/2), Stamford Raffles (6/1)
Stamford Raffles has lots to prove for the time being and Ezanak has not been shaping as though a victory is imminent so this may be fought out by Cry Wolf and WEST COAST FLYER. The selection has to step up on his latest effort, but he knows how to get the job done when right and may be ready to show his true colours.
