8,000gns yearling; 8,500gns juvenile; first foal out of moderate dam (unplaced between 1m-1m4f); trainer has his string in decent shape of late; market informative (or not)?

Unraced first foal out of a 1m4f winning dam (Lady Norlela), so the evidence points to this 3yo as likely needing a much sterner test of stamina; look elsewhere.

12,000gns juvenile; second foal out of an unraced dam who was a half-sister to the French 1m1f Group 3 winner Wilside; slowly away (16/1) on debut over C&D earlier this month, finishing a keeping on and close up fourth to Dutch Pursuit.

12/1
Fifth foal; half-sister to the 1m-1m4f AW winner Ligeti; slowly away (14/1) and never any threat to the front pair when finishing third (beaten in excess of 10L) on debut in a C&D novice in October; should improve.

Forecasts

Havana Rocket (4/6), Solar Park (3/1), Mustadun (7/1), Dream Chick (12/1), Parker's Pride (66/1)

Verdict

HAVANA ROCKET is inexperienced in terms of competing on an artificial surface, but did improve with each of his three starts on turf (as a juvenile) and sets the clear form standard. Furthermore, with the distinct possibility that wind surgery will see him stronger still, this race rates as the golden opportunity to break the maiden. Unless the Mark Johnston-trained newcomer Mustadun proves exceptionally strong in the betting exchanges, the likeliest danger is the C&D proven Solar Park.
  1. Havana Rocket
  2. Solar Park
  3. Dream Chick
