Catterick mares' novice winner last season (soft). Ran with plenty of credit in a much better race at Doncaster recently, and also on AW Flat last time. Should go close.
Kelso chase winner from this mark in November, but fell over fences last time at Cheltenham. Has won just once over hurdles in Ireland some time ago, but can't rule her out back in this discipline in a moderate contest.
66-1 and beaten a long way on handicap debut last time. Others readily preferred.
Five-race maiden whose best run so far came at Lingfield (2m3f, good to soft) two months ago. Makes handicap debut on what looks a stiff mark.
Well held in all five runs for Oliver Sherwood and has changed hands since her last run. Stable has a reputation for improving others' cast-offs, so she would be of interest if there is market support. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Multiple winner at up to 1m2f for Mark Johnston, but has not managed to match that over hurdles yet. Nonetheless, she has sufficient form to believe she can be competitive in a weak race.
Well beaten in all starts for Enda Bolger, and went the same way on her debut for this trainer. Cheekpieces now tried, but can only watch at present.
Ran respectably over both 2m5f and 3m on soft ground last year. Well held in three handicap hurdles and one over fences last time. Slipping in the weights, and blinkers now fitted. Interesting if supported.
Made the frame in bumpers for Dan Skelton two seasons ago, but has failed to sparkle over hurdles, more recently for Oliver Greenall. Can only watch her at the moment, now making her debut for another trainer.
Her heavy ground fifth at Uttoxeter last month looks decent in the context of this race. Not as good over 2m on her latest start, but back up in trip and with a 10lb claimer up, she could come into this. Has it to prove on faster ground.
A couple of her juvenile runs suggested that she might be able to win at some point, but didn't see enough from her over 2m3f at Warwick last time. Still a fair bit to prove.
Fairly consistent at her own level this season. Respectable effort at Warwick (2m3f) last time. Visor now tried. Acts on good and should be competitive.
Has failed to show much in two handicap runs so far. 5lb drop and blinkers now tried, but doesn't stand out as an obvious winner here.
Forecasts
Valdas Princess (5/2), Shine Baby Shine (7/2), Dowhatudodobest (9/2), Tara Well (7/1), Troubled Soul (8/1), Katebird (14/1), Fading Icon (14/1), Lara Trot (16/1), Impulsive Leader (20/1), Okmyway (25/1), Rose's In The Rain (33/1), The Mistress (33/1), Maisy Belle (100/1)
A poor contest can go to SHINE BABY SHINE, whose Doncaster run last month was good in context, and who comes here on the back of another good AW effort. Troubled Soul could emerge as her leading danger, while Valdas Princess may also be able to improve on her thus far ordinary efforts. Katebird, Tara Well and Dowhatudodobest are also respected.
- Shine Baby Shine
- Troubled Soul
- Valdas Princess
