Red Indian²⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: Ross Chapman| T: Miss Kelly Morgan| OR: 145| D

1/5

Bumper/hurdles winner with Ben Pauling showing some smart form in the latter sphere in tough handicaps. Taken a step forward since going chasing routing a small field on debut in this sphere (also stable debut); not disgraced in a Grade 1 last time.

Form: 3267-14

Shepherd Storm¹⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 10-12| J: Henry Brooke| T: C Grant

50/1

Very little form to go having only had two poor runs in bumper for his owner when he was training and two chase outings for this yard. Fell heavily last time having been allowed a soft lead; impossible task at the weights.

Form: 95/9F

Western Rules^p³¹

Age: 9| Weight: 10-12| J: R D Day| T: N G Richards| OR: 126

9/2

Fairly useful sort in handicaps hurdles who has not taken quite as well to chasing as yet (unseated rider on debut). Matched his hurdles form when returned to chasing last time but has a lot to do at the weights with Red Indian.

Form: 21P-U23

Forecasts

Red Indian (1/5), Western Rules (9/2), Shepherd Storm (50/1)

This ought to be a fairly straightforward task for RED INDIAN who has taken well to fences, bettering his hurdles form and scoring in impressive style on his chasing debut at Ayr by 15L. That form has exactly been well advertised but Kelly Morgan’s charge acquitted himself well when thrown into a Grade 1 at Kempton last time and he takes a major drop in class here. Western Rules has plenty to do in receipt of just 6lb would be getting 19lb if this were a handicap but barring mishaps should be taking the runner-up slot ahead of Shepherd Storm who has shown very little so far.
