C&D winner on a lengthy losing run. Good third of 7 in a C&D contest last week, though, and would have every chance if building on that more promising run.
Has won a minor event and a claimer on his last two starts over C&D, so merits respect, but will find life a bit tougher returned to the handicap ranks, and needs to pull out extra to land the hat-trick.
Won over 1m at Killarney in July for Pat Murphy when wearing cheekpieces for the first time. Not fired fully for new yard, but return to this trip will help, and he also trying a tongue tie.
Been highly tried at times, and badly handicapped as a result. Didn't shape too badly in a minor event here last week, but he needs to prove he can build on that.
Ran too badly to be true at Killarney in August, but had been shaping well prior to that, winning a maiden at Sligo in July. Capable of bouncing back after a break.
Inconsistent, but right back to his best when beating Reckless Lad in a C&D handicap last time, and seems more reliable on this surface. Still relatively lightly raced, and chance he could do better still now he's clicked.
Won off 5lb lower at Kempton in September for William Knight, but held off higher marks since. Didn't shape too badly behind Georgian Bay in a C&D event last time, but needs to improve on that to deliver in handicap company.
Won a 1m2½f claimer here in November, and better form in defeat since, pushing Georgian Bay all the way over C&D on latest start. Weighted to reverse that form here.
Won a 7f handicap off 5lb lower in November, but seemingly found out by revised mark since. Not yet proven at 1m, and percentage call is to oppose him again.
Has a win and two placings to his name over 7f in recent weeks, but was a little below form trying this trip last month, and may prove best at shorter.
Her best recent efforts have come in claiming company, scoring over C&D in May, and second to Georgian Bay in blinkers last time. Rise in the weights for that looks harsh, and no impact in a handicap here last month.
Best recent effort when fourth in a 7f handicap here last month, but below that level last time, and he is arguably best at that trip or shorter these days.
Won a C&D handicap in September, and better effort when third of 14 to Massa Lubrense here last month. Fairly treated on that effort, and one to bear in mind.
Standout effort when winning a 1m novice at Kempton in August for William Knight, but not repeated that form, including on stable debut here five weeks ago. Plenty to prove.

Forecasts
Massa Lubrense (5/1), Goodwood Showman (11/2), Tony The Gent (7/1), Georgian Bay (7/1), Alfirak (7/1), Confrontational (10/1), Reckless Lad (10/1), Spanish Soprano (10/1), Koybig (12/1), Eacharn (16/1), Zoffanyia (20/1), Silk Cravat (20/1), Sheisdiesel (22/1), Sevenleft (25/1), Progressive Dawn (50/1)
ALFIRAK ran well when third to Massa Lubrense here last time, and is taken to reverse the form on revised terms, for all there may not be much between the pair. Reckless Lad is holding his form well, and makes a bit more appeal than Georgian Lad, with whom he fought out a close finish over C&D a week ago.
- Alfirak
- Massa Lubrense
- Reckless Lad
