Has been shrewdly placed to land 5 wins this season including a match at Musselburgh last week. Loves a sound surface so any rain would be a concern and needs to prove his stamina for this longer trip as well.
Ex-Irish gelding sold for £9,500 since last seen in May. Has joined a shrewd outfit and with a first time visor it will be interesting to see what the market makes of his chances.
Blinkers now replace the cheek pieces which had little impact on latest. Has jumped badly right last two starts so should be happier going this way around but something to prove at present.
Ran better than final placing indicated here on penultimate start and in too deep in a race which has worked out very well since. Handicapper has given him a chance with the drop in trip also in his favour.
All at sea on bad ground at Bangor last time but back on a more suitable surface now and with that run easy to forgive, his earlier form put him in the mix.
In good heart and last two runs have been franked. Usually plies his trade in lesser company than this but won on only previous visit here so can't be discounted.
Forecasts
Lisdoonvarna Lad (9/4), Virnon (7/2), One Forty Seven (5/1), The Winkler (11/2), Value At Risk (7/1), Ontopoftheworld (7/1), Terry The Fish (14/1)
Concerns one way or another about all of these and a tentative vote goes to LISDOONVARNA LAD in the hope that this trip proves his optimum. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of The Winkler on stable debut and on a better surface One Forty Seven is worth a second glance.
