Scored twice last year as a juvenile with the two wins separated by a gap of some seven months. Has shown that he can cope with this surface having won on it at Chelmsford (beat two rivals); poor last time but faced competition for the lead.
Given plenty of experience as a two-year-old having won on her debut but not scoring again until her 10th start over C&D having looked rather exposed. Proved vulnerable last time again over 6f; may have trouble coping off this mark.
Three wins (all over 6f) came as a juvenile the last after wind surgery and he continued to run well Class 2 conditions event last time finishing second (two of today's rivals behind). Now into handicap company for the first time but a key player.
One of two that the stable run and she's already a C&D winner (debut win). Also took a Yarmouth nursery on her debut in that sphere but has looked in the grip of the handicapper since that win; looks exposed, others appeal more.
Scored on his first start for this yard (strong in the market) over 6f having been gelded winning with a fair bit in hand off an 8lb lower mark. Has run with credit in three runs since without looking ahead of his mark and may be ready for 7f now.
Forecasts
James Street (5/4), Beleaguerment (9/4), Deep Intrigue (3/1), K Club (7/1), Isaan Queen (15/2)
Although he didn’t pull up any trees JAMES STREET was thought good enough to contest the Acomb Stakes at York as a juvenile his one try over 7f. That may well have been flying too high but back over 6f returning from wind surgery he regained his form with a 6f win before narrowly failing to follow up last time over the same trip with K Club and Deep Intrigue behind. The former of that duo will continue to look vulnerable off this mark but the latter will be dangerous if he’s handed an easy lead after a contested pace spoilt his chance last time. The Archie Watson pair also look a little exposed with Beleagurement making most appeal although he may need 7f in the near future.
- James Street
- Deep Intrigue
- K Club
