Could well improve for going handicapping; looks to have been dealt a stiff opening mark on the basis of what he's shown so far. Will appreciate a return to this sort of trip after trying 2m last time but will need some leniency from the handicapper.

Ormskirk20
Age: 6|  Weight: 12-0| J: Luca Morgan(7)| T: J Farrelly| OR:  102| D

Offered very little on his stable debut at Wincanton (held up in rear and well beaten) and remains with major questions to answer even at this modest level. His only win over hurdles came in Jersey in August for his former yard.

Iniestav16
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mr R Withey(7)| T: M Blake| OR:  100| D

Gained some reward for his consistency over the summer when winning at Stratford off this mark but has shown very little since. Pulled up last time performing badly and hard to have much confidence in him regaining his form now.

Cafe Au Laitp,t16
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: Liam Harrison(7)| T: M F Harris| OR:  100| D

Won a couple of handicap chases over the summer for the Skelton yard but back over hurdles and having his first run for this yard last time he showed only poor form. Hard to think there is any improvement left in him; best watched.

Primogenitureb,t13
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Mr Patrick Berkins(7)| T: M Keighley| OR:  93

So far has failed to produce anything like his Flat form over hurdles despite moving well into a race at Hereford last time (didn't look keen to make much effort though). Headgear swapped again with a tongue-tie added; caution advised.

Gamekeeper Billp142
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-1| J: Mr Alex Ferguson(3)| T: A Bailey| OR:  89
8/1
Hasn't looked out of place in his last three hurdles starts displaying some modest ability on each occasion. Only fourth last time out (backed at long odds) and not disgraced; a repeat of that run would give him a place chance at least.

All Riled Up988
Age: 11|  Weight: 10-8| J: Jack Savage(3)| T: H Chisman| OR:  82| D

Not seen for quite some while and this looks as though it will be very much a comeback run to see where connections are positioned with her. Best watched unless the market provides some strong encouragement.
8
Horse silk
Arqalina13
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-5| J: Miss Lucy Turner(5)| T: Miss V Williams| OR:  79
6/5
Finished third last time (Primogeniture behind) when showing a lot more than previously on her GB starts. From a yard that has been in good form she's likely to do better than this at some point especially over further; one to watch.
9
Horse silk
Kastani Beach43
Age: 13|  Weight: 10-5| J: Mr Matthew Fielding(7)| T: J W Mullins| OR:  79| D
11/1
Has reached the veteran stage now and hasn't won from quite some while but has slipped in the weights as a consequence. Shaped better than his finishing position last time and one to note from a lowly mark.

Horse silk
Kingston Mimosap35
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-1| J: Fergus Gillard(7)| T: Mark Gillard| OR:  75
25/1
His recent record is very uneven and he offered very little after over a year off when returning last time without his usual headgear (cheekpieces). Those return now and he is a full 14lb below his last winning mark; still makes limited appeal.

Willshebetryingp135
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-1| J: Shane Quinlan(3)| T: M R Hoad| OR:  75| D
12/1
From the yard that won this in 2017 (last running) she's been well held and has had some wind surgery since her last win (December 2017). Fared poorly last time on her return, struggling from early on; now tried in first-time cheekpieces.

Kayf Tigerp,t234
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-0| J: C J Todd(7)| T: M Sheppard| OR:  67
10/1
Found some sort of form at Bangor in April in first-time cheekpieces but quickly reverted to type in blinkers when next seen. Cheekpieces now back on for his comeback run but has to cope with being 7lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Arqalina (6/5), Gamekeeper Bill (8/1), Kayf Tiger (10/1), Primogeniture (10/1), Kastani Beach (11/1), Willshebetrying (12/1), Ormskirk (12/1), Pete's Choice (16/1), Iniesta (20/1), Cafe Au Lait (20/1), Kingston Mimosa (25/1), All Riled Up (33/1)

Verdict

Venetia Williams will be hoping that she has struck earlier on the card but she has a further chance to add to her recent good form here with ARQALINA who took a step forward at Hereford last time finishing third on her handicap debut with the promise of more to come. Gamekeeper Bill is another who has shown more now that he’s in handicap company and his last run offers further encouragement that he can get involved here. Kastani Beach isn’t getting any younger but looks to have slipped to an attractive mark with Pete’s Choice looking as though he’ll improve for going into handicaps but looks to have been handed a stiff mark.
  1. Arqalina
  2. Gamekeeper Bill
  3. Kastani Beach
