(2)

Guardia Svizzera^h⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-7| J: Ben Sanderson⁽⁵⁾| T: R Fell & S Murray| OR: 73| D

25/1

Rattled off a hat-trick in 5f and 6f handicaps last summer, but recent efforts have been underwhelming. Plenty on his plate on these terms.

Form: 10000-7

(4)

Dark Alliance¹²

Age: 8| Weight: 9-1| J: Megan Nicholls⁽⁵⁾| T: D M Loughnane| OR: 71| BF| CD

13/8

Good effort to finish second in a C&D handicap on latest outing. Solid chance at these weights given he seems in good heart.

Form: 79692-2

(3)

Majestic Moon¹⁶

Age: 9| Weight: 9-1| J: Toby Eley⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss J Feilden| OR: 73| D

5/1

Last win came at Southwell almost a year ago and he ran well over 1m at that venue last month. Has possibilities, but has to prove he is effective on this surface.

Form: 464554-

(7)

Misty Birnam^p³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: S Donohoe| T: Ian Williams| OR: 71| D

11/2

Respectable third of nine in a claimer over C&D last month. Respected trainer is having a lean spell, but his representative warrants respect.

Form: 390553-

(8)

Secondo^v¹²

Age: 9| Weight: 9-1| J: Callum Shepherd| T: R Stephens| OR: 71| C

7/1

Long time since his last victory, but last two displays over C&D have been encouraging. Not out of it in a tight contest.

Form: 76072-3

(1)

Zapper Cass⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 9-1| J: L Morris| T: M Appleby| OR: 70| D

14/1

Scored over 6f at Windsor in October, but stays this trip. AW record of 1-16 is offputting, but official ratings suggest he will be competitive

Form: 1556-76

(5)

Fast Track¹²

Age: 8| Weight: 8-10| J: S W Kelly| T: T D Barron| OR: 69| C

7/1

On a lengthy losing streak and recent run over C&D was only fair. Has winning form on this surface, however, and may be able to do better on this third start since wind surgery.

Form: 59704-6

(6)

Mr Wing^p1²⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 8-9| J: Nathan Evans| T: J S Wainwright| OR: 23

100/1

Out of the frame and well beaten in seven starts, the latest after being gelded. Hard to make any sort of case for despite the application of cheekpieces for the first time.

Form: 608577-

Forecasts

Dark Alliance (13/8), Majestic Moon (5/1), Misty Birnam (11/2), Fast Track (7/1), Secondo (7/1), Zapper Cass (14/1), Guardia Svizzera (25/1), Mr Wing (100/1)

Guardia Svizzera has a stiff task at the weights, so this may be fought out by Secondo, Majestic Moon and DARK ALLIANCE, with narrow preference for the latter, who comes into this race on the back of a good effort over C&D. Zapper Cass and Fast Track also enter calculations in a tricky contest,
