Dual winner at the Cheltenham Festival and used to these competitive handicaps. 3lb higher than when winning the Ultima in 2017. Since had wind surgery. Not disgraced over hurdles after lengthy absence. Check market.
Stays 3m1f on good ground. 6lb higher than his last win. Went close at Uttoxeter when last seen in May. Record when fresh has not been good form some time, and also stamina concerns over this far.
Won big Grade 3 at Sandown (3m5f, good to soft) in April by 13L. Not seen since well held on his reappearance in October. Could come on for that and entitled to consideration now back up in trip.
Dual Topham winner whose best form has been at around 2m5f. Stayed 3m2f in the Becher last time, and now stepped up even further. Acts on good, but still has a bit to prove over this far.
Came good over fences at the eighth attempt when winning a decent novices' event (3m, good) at Cheltenham in November. Not far off that form when put in his place there again last time. Unexposed and a contender.
Has won four hurdles since his last chase success in January 2017. Stays 4m, over which he was just held at Kelso in the Borders National last time. 5lb rise for that and in a better race, but respected.
Runner-up in this last year and just got up to win a thriller at Cheltenham (3m2f, good) last time. Up 3lb, so will need another career-best if he is to defy this mark, but not ruled out.
11L winner of this last year (soft), when 6lb lower. Has been unable to match that form since. Was entitled to need his reappearance, but a repeat success will be tough from this mark on this faster ground.
Ended a three-year barren spell when staying on strongly to score over 3m2f (good to soft) at Newbury last time. Up 3lb for that, but stays this trip and has won on good. Claims.
Won a soft ground novice event at Exeter (3m) last season and followed that up with similarly useful efforts at Cheltenham and on this corresponding card. Out of sorts since, but certainly not ruled out from this mark.
Wide margin winner of a Uttoxeter chase (3m2f, good to soft) and then a Southwell hurdle (3m) on his first two starts of the autumn. Below that level in the Rowland Meyrick last time, and a bit to prove. 28L fourth in this last year.
0-5 over fences. Was just over 2L second to Ok Corral (runs earlier on the card) last time, and has previously well for a long way in the Cheltenham four-miler last March. Interesting from this mark.

A cracker in prospect, with IBIS DU RHEU the suggestion. Paul Nicholls' charge is unexposed and shapes as though this sort of test might suit. He also handles good ground, which could prove vital. Impulsive Star has also won on good, and though he might be better suited by some ease, he is another unexposed runner of interest. Carole's Destrier is back in form and very much respected, while Step Back and Un Temps Pour Tout are others who go get heavily involved.
- Ibis Du Rheu
- Impulsive Star
- Carole's Destrier
