Formerly smart chaser whose form tailed off last season when with Venetia Williams. Makes reappearance for new stable after 10-months off. Change of scenery may help and well treated if he can revive.

His best form has all been on testing ground, so conditions not ideal. 2lb lower than his last win at Perth in April and was not too far off that level last time. Can't write him off, but not sure he can produce his optimum on good going.

Won back-to-back chases at Ludlow last season, including on good. Below that level in all three starts this season, but has slipped to a very handy mark, and a reproduction of his penultimate run would still give him claims.

7/4
Dual chase winner last season when there was cut in the ground, but scored on good over hurdles (2m4f) at Fakenham on his reappearance in October. Has run well from similar marks on his last three starts. More needed, but has claims.

8/1
Dual chase winner on softer ground last spring, the latter when 7lb higher. Not as good this season, and needs to get back to somewhere near his best to have a chance.

9/4
Dual handicap hurdle winner last season. Has shown some promise in both chases so far. More needed, but entitled to respect.

Forecasts

Movie Legend (7/4), Generous Day (9/4), Huntsman Son (11/4), Robinshill (6/1), Rock On Rocky (8/1), Bright New Dawn (10/1), Baby King (12/1)

Verdict

A tough race to call, as all the field have something to prove, and the suggestion is ROBINSHILL. Nigel Twiston-Davies' gelding is back on a good mark here, handles the ground and although he has not been consistent this season, his best effort would probably be good enough. Huntsman Son is an interesting contender, while Bright New Dawn could go well on his first start for Olly Murphy. Movie Legend and Generous Day are not written off.
  1. Robinshill

  3. Huntsman Son
