First run on the AW when third of 12 over 1m at this venue in October. Not been seen since, but competes off 1lb lower. On the down side, each of his three wins have been achieved over 1m.

Seven-times winner on the AW, but his best form is at Southwell where he finished second of eight on his latest start at the beginning of this month. Runs off the same mark and warrants respect.

Best run for some time when good second over C&D off 2lb higher last weekend. Looks to have plenty going for him if able to back that up.

Behind Call Out Loud when third over C&D. No obvious reason why he should turn the tables on these terms, although that was his first run since the end of November, so he may be a bit sharper.

Making his first appearance since July when well down the field at Chelmsford in November. Shaped as though that run was needed and likely to do better this time off 2lb lower.

Forecast

Call Out Loud (6/4), Custard The Dragon (11/4), Portledge (7/2), Helovaplan (5/1), Luis Vaz De Torres (18/1)

Verdict

Top-weight Helovaplan will be well fancied following a decent AW debut run, but his three career wins have come over further and he may have to play second fiddle to CALL OUT LOUD, who was caught on the line over C&D six days ago and has to go close off 2lb lower if in the same mood. He should confirm that running with third-placed Portledge, while Custard The Dragon and Luis Vaz De Torres have form which give them claims in a trappy contest.
