Similar form in defeat since scoring at Kempton in October, and while he didn't really threaten when a keeping-on fifth at Chelmsford last time, this drop in grade gives him leading claims.
Placed over hurdles in the summer for James Lambe, but below form in that sphere on either side of a change of yards, and bit to prove on first Flat start since May.
Back to form when winning a 1m1½f handicap here on penultimate start, but that is a bit of a standout, and he could run just respectably after a slow start last time. Needs to put his best foot forward.
Excuses when beaten favourite at Southwell last time (slow into stride), and previous placed efforts there and at Newcastle over this sort of trip put this C&D winner in contention.
Plenty of solid efforts on turf last year to make him look the form pick here. Below form over hurdles and on Fibresand of late, but easy enough to forgive those runs, and should bounce back.

Arabic Culture (11/8), The Groove (3/1), Roman De Brut (5/1), Zephyros (5/1), Red Gunner (7/1), Mr Red Clubs (7/1), Blue Skimmer (20/1)
ARABIC CULTURE has been running with credit, and can regain the winning thread dropped in class. The Groove has had excuses for recent runs and should be competitive, with Roman de Brut best of the rest.
