Gained first chase success in taking manner latest over 2m6½f at Limerick. Upped 6lb for that which looks pretty lenient so expecting another bold bid here given he remains lightly raced over fences.
Seems a sound jumper of a fence as shown with close seconds in two most recent starts. First handicap here but open to plenty of improvement and likely softer ground will suit based on hurdles form so leading claims.
10lb higher at present than Limerick win in April and moderate effort on reappearance at Listowel when 11th of 14. Sizable step up on that needed to take a hand in the finish.
Yet to win over fences and 15L behind less experienced Sir Carno last time out at level weights so 5lb receipt here still gives him an upward task. Is however likely to come on plenty for that where rival had fitness edge.
Useful dual hurdles winner yet to reach that level of performance in four chase races although that means he arrives here 12lb lower than hurdles mark. Will need improvement aplenty but not impossible at this stage.
Built on promise of first chase when battling to success at Navan last time in a handicap over this trip. 7lb rise for that head success raises the stakes but little surprise if he improves again in just third chase start.
One from 16 over fences and recent lacklustre return at Gowran where he gained his win suggested a second win is not imminent. Big step up required.
Already had 16 runs this season, winning twice. Most recent of those at Clonmel in early December but made little impact in four subsequent races so others make more appeal.
Yet to make the frame over fences and after refusing first time out he has been beaten a long way twice. Handicap continues to tumble but little sign he's ready to take advantage.
Fairyhouse winner last February failed to complete in two of next three starts. Respectable fourth over 3m1½f last time out but best form has come over this sort of trip so should prove equally effective here.
Two most recent chase wins over further and doing best work late when a 17L fourth to Lilshane last time out over 2m6½f. Reversal unlikely especially over this trip.
Forecasts
Kilfenora (9/4), Sir Carno (4/1), Danse Away (9/2), Nicole's Milan (6/1), Lilshane (12/1), Capture The Drama (14/1), Tongie (14/1), Art Of Security (14/1), Mon Lino (14/1), Concordin (16/1), Flynsini (20/1)
SIR CARNO arrives in this his first handicap with plenty of scope for further progress after two good efforts in novice company and he gets the vote for Gordon Elliott. Impressive Limerick winner Lilshane should go well with a 6lb rise not likely to cause any great inconvenience and another recent winner worth considering is Danse Away.
- Sir Carno
- Lilshane
- Danse Away
