Dominic Monaghan Memorial Novices' Handicap Chase

Off time: 13:32 | Winning time: 4m 16.60s

Hint Of Grey³⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 12-7| J: N F Houlihan⁽¹⁰⁾| T: G & J Moore| OR: 107| C| D

7/4

Taken to fences well enough to suggest he can pay his way at some point. Yard does well here and, with this drop in trip likely to suit, the gelding could easily boost the statistics if he builds on what was a highly promising run last time.

Form: 2445-52

Waikiki Waves⁵⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 95

9/1

Form has taken a turn since his win at Fontwell back in May. Best watched now he switches to fences in an effort to revive his fortunes.

Form: 61P047

Dalkadam^p,t²⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: J R Jenkins| OR: 84| D

15/8

Has gone close to winning over fences on a number of occasions but is more exposed than most and is running out of chances. Likely to run his race but vulnerable to a more progressive individual.

Form: 5-38524

Upham Running^p,t1¹⁸

Age: 11| Weight: 10-3| J: Page Fuller⁽³⁾| T: Mrs K A Buckett| OR: 75

7/2

Plenty of experience over hurdles but winning isn't a natural process for the gelding. His starts over fences have been below average to say the least. Very hard to recommend.

Form: 64-P466

Gilly Grace⁴⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 10-0| J: W T Kennedy| T: J D Frost| OR: 70

16/1

Never won or been placed over hurdles from 16 attempts; also way off the mark in her only start over fences. looks a most unlikely winner of even a moderate heat such as this.

Form: 540-588

Non-Runners

Bolister³²

Weight: 11-3| Age: 8

Forecasts

Hint Of Grey (7/4), Dalkadam (15/8), Upham Running (7/2), Bolister (6/1), Waikiki Waves (9/1), Gilly Grace (16/1)

This could possibly be a straightforward task for HINT OF GREY, who looked progressive when tried over fences last time out and has been found a weak race in which to use that run as a platform to better things. Dalkadam has already had a few chances to get off the mark over fences and looks the most likely candidate to capitalise if the selection under performs for any reason, while Bolister has little to find to be the best of the rest iof his jumping holds up.
