Winter Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap Chase

Off time: 15:10 | Winning time: 6m 24.40s

Present Flight^p1,t³¹

Age: 10| Weight: 12-0| J: Thomas Willmott⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 102

4/1

Stays 3m2½f, but has been kept to around 2m4f for his last three runs, and put up a decent effort at Carlisle (heavy) last time. 1lb lower, new headgear combination on, and back up in trip. Not ruled out.

Form: 34P-553

Glittering Love¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-13| J: B S Hughes| T: N G Richards| OR: 101| D

6/5

Has gone up 9lb for winning over 2m4f (heavy) at Hexham on his recent chase debut. However, he did that with some authority, despite the winning margin of less than 3L, and he looks one to keep on the right side of now upped in trip.

Form: 11114-1

Imperial Prince³⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 11-12| J: Henry Brooke| T: I A Duncan| OR: 100

11/1

Dual hurdle winner in 2016 at up to 2m6½f. Placed three times in nine chase runs and faded out of it on heavy ground over C&D last time. Others preferred.

Form: 3439F5

Mash Potato^p,t³²

Age: 9| Weight: 11-5| J: Conor Orr⁽⁵⁾| T: N C Kelly| OR: 93

10/1

Without a win in 16 starts since April 2017, but placed on a number of occasions over hurdles in that time. Pulled up on chase debut last time and looks up against it for win purposes.

Form: 93433P

Flying Jack^t⁷³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-2| J: Dale Irving⁽³⁾| T: M A Barnes| OR: 90

14/1

0-6 over fences. Has fallen in his last two chase runs, but was in the process of running a good race when coming down at the final fence last time. Frame claims if he can jump around.

Form: 21U4F-F

Purple Harry^p³¹

Age: 11| Weight: 10-13| J: Ross Chapman⁽³⁾| T: Miss T Jackson| OR: 87| D

13/2

Won over a similar trip (soft) at Kelso in 2017, on his chase debut. Unable to get back to that level since, with only one run at Newcastle in April being anything approaching that.

Form: RP624-5

Left Back^t³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 10-9| J: Lucy Alexander| T: N W Alexander| OR: 83| D

14/1

1-7 in point-to-points and well beaten in both recent chase runs, dropping a total of 12lb. Much more needed.

Form: 3123-66

Spinning Scooter^p,t⁵⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 10-8| J: Sam Coltherd⁽⁵⁾| T: M A Barnes| OR: 82

20/1

Showed some promise over fences at Hexham last spring, but well below that on his last four runs. Looks best watched at present.

Form: 334P74

Forecasts

Glittering Love (6/5), Present Flight (4/1), Purple Harry (13/2), Mash Potato (10/1), Imperial Prince (11/1), Left Back (14/1), Flying Jack (14/1), Spinning Scooter (20/1)

Present Flight looks interesting now back up in trip and in new headgear, but Nicky Richards looks to have found a good opportunity for GLITTERING LOVE, who is a confident choice to build on his chase debut success and defy a 9lb rise. Mash Potato and Flying Jack are others who may be able to claim some prize money.
