Took his first two starts here winning a maiden over this trip on the first of them and following up in a 5f handicap off a 9lb lower mark. Appears to be held by the handicapper off marks such as this and has an absence to overcome.

Still without his usual headgear (eyeshields) he returned to form over 5f here last time to finish a sound 2nd after getting outpaced. Stays this trip but his overall profile is a little uneven and he's not sure to be in the same form as last time.

One of two in this that are making their Fibresand debut and having just his 3rd run for this yard (previously with Richard Hannon). Has run far too free in his last two starts over 7f; needs to cure that trait before he's effective on this surface.

Hasn't looked that effective on his three starts here even in a first-time visor last time; ran a typical race giving himself a tough task with a very slow start. Never looked a threat and most of his best form has come on turf; treat with caution.

Finished 2nd on her C&D debut earlier in the year off a 5lb lower mark and has won twice on turf since. Run with credit since then without looking like winning but has shown herself competitive off this mark and will appreciate a return to 6f.

His pedigree always suggested that he would be effective here and is 3-3 over this trip on Fibresand. All his losing form here has come over different trips and he was always behind over 7f last time (finished last); 6lb below his last winning mark.

Fair handicapper on his day and a four-time C&D winner with the latest success coming off a lower mark that his win here earlier in the year (has a slightly awkward run style). Disappointed last time over C&D in a claimer; type to bounce back.

Dropped to 5f for the first time when scoring here last time having proved himself on this surface over 1m the time before (forced a very strong pace). It was only a weak novice he won last time but he's unexposed over sprint trips; interesting.

Half-brother to a couple of dirt winners in the USA with the dam also a winner on dirt (should be suited by this surface). Only win came over 7f on the AW (looks his best trip); likes to go from the front (may face pace pressure here).

Forecasts

Global Melody (7/2), Jack The Truth (5/1), Zapper Cass (5/1), Dollar Value (11/2), Amazing Grazing (6/1), Kommander Kirkup (9/1), Bellevarde (14/1), Monks Stand (14/1), Tathmeen (25/1)

Verdict

Plenty of fair Fibresand form on offer here and although he’s slightly quirky Kommander Kirkup has to be respected on the back of his four C&D wins although he’s best coming from off a strong pace which he may get here. Both Global Melody and Dollar Value are likely to force the pace here and that may play into the hands of those coming from behind although the former of that duo looks as though he’s an improving sort on this surface. Amazing Grazing has shown some form here but looks a little short in the market and a chance is taken on MONKS STAND springing back to life over a trip he’s unbeaten at here.
  1. Monks Stand
  2. Global Melody
  3. Kommander Kirkup
