Won three times on Flat at up to 1m6f and is 2-2 over hurdles after wins at Sedgefield and Wetherby. This is tougher, but there may be more to come so has to have solid claims.
Both course wins have come at 2m but goes well here. Was clear and going strongly when fallng 2 out over C&D last time so expect another bold front-running bid. 7lb rise looks a shade harsh though.
Won staying Flat handicap here this autumn but has disappointed since in two chases and a hurdle. Eased 3lb and decent conditional rider claims 7lb, while first time tongue-tie may help the cause.
Old timer who ran creditably over C&D last time and runs off the same mark. Wouldn't want any rain as appeciates a sound surface. Yard in good form at present.
Won four times on Flat for Mick Channon at 1m2f. Made winning hurdles debut here over 2m for new yard in November and probably unsuited by testing ground at Hexham last time. Not a certain stayer at this new trip but yard flying of late.
Yet to reach a place in 6 starts over timber and unseared rider at the second at Kelso last time. Not disgraced on previous start at Musselburgh and steps up in trip now. Yard going great guns but has plenty on his plate.
Has won 10 races, seven over hurdles and scored on penultimate start over 2m in Newcastle handicap hurdle. Fell last time at Doncaster but is not out of this if none the worse for that tumble.
Forecasts
Kajaki (6/4), Nendrum (7/2), Chebsey Beau (11/2), Iconic Belle (7/1), Surf And Turf (9/1), Ballynanty (16/1), Green Zone (16/1)
KAJAKI is 2-2 over timber and we may not yet have seen the best of him, so despite having to give away weight all round he is a fairly confident choice in a race where a number of his rivals have questions to answer. Nendrum was clear when falling 2 out here last time but is up 7lb and won't be given as much rope this time, while there are stamnina doubts for Iconic Belle and Ballynanty. Green Zone is at the right end of the weights and may not be far away if recovered from his recent tumble.
- Kajaki
- Green Zone
- Nendrum
