Ran well over C&D recently attempting to concede a penalty for her earlier Wincanton win to a useful sort and only going down by 3L. Made the running on that occasion and likely to do so again here given what looks an easier opportunity.

Only a modest sort on the Flat; well beaten in her only point-to-point before starting her hurdles career over C&D last time (well beaten behind Foxtrot Juliet). Not knocked about but does need to prove her stamina for this trip.

11/1
Showed very little in a pair of good ground bumpers in May/June of last year and made her hurdles debut on the back of a break/wind op. Beaten nearly 16L on that occasion and despite her connections she has plenty to prove.

9/2
Showed some promise on her only French hurdle run before joining this yard; wore hood for stable/GB debut (shaped as if needing the run). Ran too free in that race though to be assessed properly and more will be known after this run.

7/1
Hurdling newcomer for a predominantly Flat stable who was 1-16 on the level. Winning an AW 1m4f handicap off a mark of 54 was her only success and comes here on the back of a poor effort; only of interest if the market speaks for her.

Lassana Angelt27
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Alan Johns| T: T R Gretton
9/1
Capable of some fair form on the Flat (still a maiden) and looked badly in need of the experience in a hood/tongue-tie combination on her hurdling debut. Improved last time (hood left off) she remains capable of better in this sphere.
7
Horse silk
22/1
There was something to be gleaned in terms of ability from her runner-up placing on her 2nd Irish point-to-point start. Soon outpaced and beaten on her bumper debut here in November and others appeal more.
9
Horse silk
33/1
Her sole Flat run made her of interest on her hurdles debut behind a useful sort who has won again since. Patiently ridden on that occasion she appeared to offer little and can only be watched for now.

Foxtrot Juliet (2/5), Ilaya (9/2), See The Sea (5/1), Katabatika (7/1), Lassana Angel (9/1), Goffsbridge Girl (11/1), Mega Double (22/1), Sweet Marmalade (33/1), Dream On Dreamer (100/1)

Verdict

A weak event and having been stopped by her penalty in a better event last time out over C&D FOXTROT JULIET appears to have found a suitable opportunity to get back to winning ways. She should prove too strong for this opposition with Ilaya looking the main danger if she settles better this time around; her debut 2nd at Pau when trained in France showed that she had ability. The Don McCain pair Goffsbridge Girl and See The Sea don’t look anything out of the ordinary and Lassana Angel would be preferred for the minor berth if she can build on her Leicester 3rd last time out.
  1. Foxtrot Juliet
  2. Ilaya
  3. Lassana Angel
