'Thank You To Major Charlie Moore' EBF Mares' Maiden Open NH Flat Race

Off time: 15:45 | Winning time: 4m 1.10s

A Perfect Gift

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: R Johnson| T: O Murphy

6/4

Cost €30,000 as a yearling, the Presenting mare is out of a half-sister to the top-class Sizing Europe. Yard going well just now, so worth noting in the betting in this company.

Form:

Czech Her Out

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Benjamin Poste| T: M Scudamore

16/1

By Fame And Glory out of a a Flemensfirth mare, she is a half half-sister to a good number of winners over a variety of trip. Yard capable but not synonymous with winners first time out. Still worth noting in the betting.

Form:

Farne³³

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: J M Quinlan| T: N B King

4/1

Cost £12,000, the mare made a satisfactory debut at Wetherby last month (the horse who finished third has subsequently disappointed as an odds-on favourite though). Needs to take a step forward.

Form: 2

Flow Away⁴¹

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Harry Bannister| T: A M Hales

33/1

Sixth of twelve on debut at Sedgefield and the form looks a shade below par at present. Others make more appeal this time.

Form: 6

Lugg River²⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: James Davies| T: T Symonds

6/1

A Kayf Tara mare out of s Supreme Leader mare, cut in the ground ought to suit but needs to improve upon her debut run in modest company at Ludlow earlier this month.

Form: 5

Makeyamindupmaiz

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: T Scudamore| T: J Coulson

20/1

A geordieland filly that is a half-sister to a handful of stayers who won both over hurdles and fences. The betting can guide as to any perceived preference between her and stablemate Czech Her Out.

Form:

Minnie Escape²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Tom Buckley⁽⁷⁾| T: V R A Dartnall

25/1

Made little impact on debut at Wincanton in February and also folded tamely at Southwell earlier this month. Difficult to see her being good enough ion that evidence.

Form: 7-4

Northern Princess²⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Maxime Tissier⁽⁵⁾| T: L Wadham

10/3

Posted a solid effort to finish second on debut at Southwell in November and latest start is best forgiven as the rider lost an iron at an early stage and the mare never go competitive. May be more to come. Worth a betting check.

Form: 20

Quiet Penny³³

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Joe Williamson⁽⁷⁾| T: G Boanas

33/1

Made late gains in both previous starts but was never really a threat. Has a number of winning hurdlers in her bloodlines, so might need more time and obstacles in the way before we see the best of her.

Form: 58

Forecasts

A Perfect Gift (6/4), Northern Princess (10/3), Farne (4/1), Lugg River (6/1), Czech Her Out (16/1), Makeyamindupmaiz (20/1), Minnie Escape (25/1), Flow Away (33/1), Quiet Penny (33/1)

A PERFECT GIFT stands out on pedigree in an ordinary bumper and, with her yard going well just now, this looks a fair opportunity for her to get off the mark at the first time of asking. Farne needs to take a step forward from her debut but looks a likely improver among the rest. Northern Princess and Czech Her Out are also worth noting for signs of support.
