Off the mark over fences on seasonal debut when landing an eight runner 2m handicap at Sandown despite jumping slightly left. This course should therefore suit better and looks a leading contender with 5lb rise not unreasonable.

Smart bumper prospect in 2016 and showed ability in two hurdle starts in 16/17 season. First chase race here after an absence of 21 months so hard to know what to expect but represents a respected yard so not ruled out.

Early Du Lemo22
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: Joshua Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR:  119
5/2
Made errors when a 23L 11th of 16 on chase debut and unseated his rider at the first subsequently at Sandown. Will have to brush up his jumping but has time on his side and in good hands.

Another Crick25
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Wayne Hutchinson| T: Noel Williams| OR:  117
2/1
11-race maiden but two promising efforts over fences with ½L seconds at Chepstow and Southwell, the first despite a bad error at the last. 6lb higher this time round but going the right way and expecting a bold bid.

Ollie Vaar14
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: L Heard| T: R J Price| OR:  113
20/1
Unplaced maiden hurdler was carried off the track when the tapes rose on recent reappearance. Didn't complete in two point-to-points earlier in career so risky proposition overall.

Forecasts

Another Crick (2/1), Swift Crusador (9/4), Early Du Lemo (5/2), Cruiseaweigh (15/2), Ollie Vaar (20/1)

Verdict

This looks a fair opportunity for recent Sandown winner SWIFT CRUSADOR to follow up and he should come on plenty for that, his first run of the season so can overcome a 5lb rise to land the spoils here. Main danger looks to be Another Crick who has run well in both chase starts going close on each occasion while Cruiseaweigh is hard to gauge after so long off but few from this yard are ever dismissed.
  1. Swift Crusador
  2. Another Crick
  3. Cruiseaweigh
