French hurdle winner on second of two starts for previous yard and twice second in similar contests under the penalty which he again carries here for this yard. Sets the standard and 7lb claimer alleviates the penalty.
Newcomer by Black Sam Bellamy closely related to 2m2f-2m5f hurdle winner Massannie and half-brother to a 2m hurdle scorer. Market should be informative for yard three from five since Christmas at time of writing.
Well beaten ninth of 11 in a 1m6f bumper at Warwick (soft) on debut last month. Hurdles debut today but others make more appeal in this event.
66-rated flat performer won once for Mick Channon over 1m on good to firm at Pontefract. Yard landed a similar contest at Kempton on the 27th with a 25/1 first time hurdles runner rated 68 so can't be ignored.
Nine-race maiden on the flat but plenty of ability shown with four placed efforts and a current rating of 77. Stayed 1m4f on the level so stamina no issue and certainly one for the shortlist here.
Three-time flat winner from 1m4f-2m½f for Sir Mark Prescott. Trainer does exceptionally well in such races including winning this last year but stable jockey prefers Running Cloud.
Proved tough to win with but was generally consistent on the flat. Fourth in valuable AW handicap on stable debut bodes well and looks a genuine contender for last year's winning yard with stable jockey picking him over Praeceps.
Forecasts
Song For Someone (13/8), Running Cloud (11/4), Praeceps (4/1), Legal History (5/1), Chikoko Trail (16/1), Annsam (20/1), Capparattin (200/1)
Alan King won this last year with a hurdles debutant in Nayati and he fires two shots at this race with preference for Wayne Hutchinson's mount RUNNING CLOUD who has already registered a good effort for the stable on the flat. Song For Someone sets the standard and a decent one but has twice found one too good under the penalty and he may just do so again. Also on the shortlist is Chikoko Trail for the Moore's who won with a performer of similar ability in a useful looking juvenile hurdle at Kempton the other day.
- Running Cloud
- Song For Someone
- Chikoko Trail
