Penalised for his clear-cut 9L C&D win in October (beat Thelongwayaround - runs at 11.45am); not quite as effective at Catterick since (fifth); no issues with conditions assuming that the rain stays away; the form horse in a weak race.

Joined this trainer from Colin Bowe for £21,000 in May 2017; outpaced from three out on stable debut over C&D earlier in the month when finishing eighth of ten to Romeo Brown.

Brother to the French 2m3f hurdle/chase winner Innovate; had wind surgery since finishing fifth of seven to Precious Cargo (stablemate Sao Maxence second) at Ayr (2m, heavy) in January.

12/1
All at sea on both Flat starts for this trainer during November; twice a winner over 1m2f on the AW (has also won over 7f) for previous trainer Henry Spiller; market could prove to be informative on hurdles debut.

10/3
Has winners in his family line (half-brother to Dali Mail) and should make his mark somewhere along the line; a drop back in trip looks advisable based upon his hurdles debut fourth at Ayr (2m4f); place prospects.
Closely related to the 2m-2m5f hurdle winner Milan Of Crystal; 28/1 when a tailed-off last of nine on debut in an Ayr bumper in November; must fare better on his first start over hurdles; stablemate of Charlie's Lass.

Well beaten in three Flat races (1m-1m4f+) since returning from a two-year absence; wears cheekpieces for the first time on hurdles debut.

7/2
€20,000 yearling who has struggled to make much of an impact in two previous starts over hurdles; lacked fluency when finishing a well beaten fourth (17½L) to Weather Front at Newcastle (2m, good) latest.
Stablemate of Elvis Mail; cost £10,000 out of the Archie Watson yard in May 2017; very low-key hurdles debut when finishing ninth of 11 to Buster Valentine (2m maiden, heavy) at Ayr in November.

5-19 on the AW (all wins coming over 7f-1m); out of sorts for the vast majority of 2018, so very difficult to recommend with any degree of confidence now switched to hurdling.
Stablemate of Izzy's Champion; well beaten fourth of five to the ill-fated Kensukes Kingdom on hurdles debut at Musselburgh (2m, good) 26 days ago.

Dam was a dual PTP winner (also raced under rules); fairly prominent in the market (6/1) when upped to 3m at Musselburgh latest (weakened); the minimum trip around Kelso looks plenty sharp enough despite her ability to lie up handily.

Verdict

In many respects the October C&D maiden winner GOLDENCARD should prove vulnerable under a penalty as demonstrated in defeat at Catterick. However, with precious little in the way of viable opposition with which too oppose him with this afternoon, he gets the nod. Raecius Felix is probably capable of better than he's demonstrated so far for Ruth Jefferson, whilst the Nick Alexander-trained Elvis Mail looks more than capable of making the frame in this company.
