Made a winning hurdling debut at Chepstow before finishing a good third in a much better race at Ascot. Solid claims on those displays.

Fulfilled the promise of his Cheltenham hurdling bow when scoring by a wide margin at Ludlow. Looks a nice prospect and has to be respected.

Sent off at huge odds when tailed off on both starts in bumpers. Impossible to fancy on first start over hurdles.

25/1
Point-to-point winner who was unplaced in a couple of starts in bumpers for Neil Mullholland. Has joined another leading stable, but is best watched on first attempt at hurdling.

50/1
Point-to-point winner who cost £50,000 at the Cheltenham sales in May. Beaten a long way on jumping bow at Warwick last month and needs to show much more.

Strong Glance29
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Alain Cawley| T: F O'Brien| BF
5/1
Very useful in bumpers, winning two of his three races. Joint-favourite when well beaten on hurdling debut at Newbury and is surely capable of better.

Forecasts

Seven De Baune (6/4), Hold The Note (3/1), Senior Citizen (3/1), Strong Glance (5/1), My Story (25/1), Ivilnoble (33/1), Silent Assistant (50/1), Ivor The Fox (150/1)

Verdict

An intriguing race containing several useful prospects. Good bumper performer Strong Glance is surely capable of more than he showed at Newbury and point-to-point winners My Story and Silent Assistant are horses with potential. Senior Citizen and Seven De Beaune are winners over timber and set a decent standard, but they have to concede 6lb to a promising sort in HOLD THE NOTE and he gets the vote with his stable among the winners.
  1. Hold The Note
  2. Senior Citizen
  3. Seven De Baune
