Super effort to defy odds of 20-1, despite some sketchy jumping and racing keenly, getting up close home to win a Newbury maiden hurdle (1m7½f, soft) on debut last month. Penalised, but entitled to make the short-list.

Hereford bumper winner on debut (soft) 12-months ago. Improved on that with a 12L fourth on his recent Exeter hurdles debut (2m1f, heavy). Contender.

Six-race maiden. 21L second in a Worcester novice hurdle last season, but 100-1 and well beaten on recent reappearance.

Showed a bit of promise at Warwick on debut in March, but has yet to show much in two hurdles starts this term. Can only watch at present.

Dual Flat winner at around 1m4f for William Haggas (OR 87). Last seen running respectably in a Wolverhampton handicap in October. Bought for 35,000gns since and makes debut for an in-form team. Can probably go well.

Showed some promise in a Southwell bumper on debut (good) in September, not as good since, including in two hurdles runs at around 2m. More needed.
Won a maiden on the Flat in France (1m2½f, good to soft) 14-months ago. Cost €75,000 soon after. 20-1 and pulled hard on hurdles debut at Lingfield (2m, good to soft) last month. Promising effort nonetheless. Could build on that this time.

Has improved steadily in his three runs so far, but is shaping up much more as a handicap proposition.
Showed promise on his hurdles debut at Kempton (2m, good) last month and was sent off at 10-11 to win a Musselburgh maiden hurdle recently. Last of four there, beaten 11½L. Needs to bounce back but not ruled out.

Placed in a Uttoxeter bumper (good) in June, but 66-1 and well held on soft ground hurdling debut at Warwick last month. Others preferred.

4L second in a good ground Towcester bumper (1m5½f) on her second start last year. Well beaten when last seen at Bangor in May. Looks one to watch on her hurdles debut.

Forecasts

Bright Forecast (11/8), Apres Le Deluge (11/4), Humble Hero (7/2), Tegerek (10/1), Thibault (12/1), The Vollan (33/1), Brunel Woods (66/1), Cooling (66/1), Rafferty (100/1), Elite Garde (100/1), All Change (100/1)

Verdict

Bright Forecast was gutsy on debut despite some foibles and he is respected under a penalty, as there certainly looked to be improvement in him. However, he might struggle to successfully concede weight to newcomer HUMBLE HERO, who is in good hands and if he can hurdle fluently on his first attempt, then he may have too much speed. Apres Le Deluge also makes some appeal along with Tegerek and Thibault.
  1. Humble Hero
  2. Tegerek
  3. Bright Forecast
