Still a maiden over fences after 16 previous attempts but has been placed three times over a variety of trip. Likes to make the running but vulnerable to stronger finisher ion these terms.
Open to improvement over fences and suited by this sort of trip (certainly is over hurdles). Worth a betting check with the first-time cheekpieces applied as a concentration aid no doubt.
Pulled up in three of his four previous starts over fences, the gelding has plain to see chinks in his armour. Better effort latest, though, which was an encouraging sign. Needs to take a big step forward though.
Made a bit of progress over fences for his former yard and entirely possible that his switch to a new stable will have rekindled his interest. Not much to find to get involved in the thick of the action and worth considering in a weak race.
Won this race from the same mark last season and again has the benefit of a couple of recent spins. Was a disappointing favourite last time out and made a couple of mistakes on the way. Still dangerous to overlook though.
A low-grade performer over both hurdles and fences; the gelding looks to face a stiff test on these terms given his rating of just 73. Others look to hold much stronger claims.
Forecasts
Chasing Headlights (9/4), The Dawn Man (3/1), Djarkevi (4/1), Paddling (4/1), Budarri (8/1), Dallas Cowboy (14/1)
A chance is taken that switching yards will revive the fortunes of DJARKEVI, who shaped up nicely in his last few starts for his former trainer and remains open to further progress from a lenient looking mark. Paddling won this race from the same rating last year, so has to be feared as a live danger once more, while Budarri is open to further improvement as he's only had the one previous outing over fences and is also worth considering.
- Djarkevi
- Paddling
- Budarri
