4/1
Winning bumper horse who gets his fourth go over hurdles here having shown ability over the obstacles (placed over C&D). May have needed the run on stable debut last time but jumped poorly and markedly right; drops in trip.
2
Horse silk
11/2
Useful sort on the Flat when trained in Ireland winning twice at up to 1m5f and offered something to work on from his hurdling debut last time (2m, Musselburgh). Split a couple of useful types (runner up); looks to need a more galloping test.

Lord Yeats28
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Joe Colliver| T: Jedd O'Keeffe| BF
4/7
Smart Flat performer (Listed winner over 1m4f) who showed plenty to work on from his hurdling debut despite showing plenty of inexperience (runner up at Wetherby). Likely to come on from that run but pedigree suggests he'll be useful in this sphere.
Very rare runner at the track for the trainer who brings this smooth Sandown bumper winner for his second hurdles start from his Wiltshire base. Failed to show his bumper form in stiff company on his hurdling debut; faces another stiff task.

33/1
Showed little in four point-to-points (failed to complete on three occasions) and showed that he needed time and distance when hooded for his bumper debut (finished midfield). Well held on his hurdles debut and not much expected.

Forecasts

Lord Yeats (4/7), Baracalu (4/1), Constancio (11/2), The Raven's Return (10/1), The Sting (33/1)

Verdict

Little doubt that LORD YEATS was the better of the two ex-Flat performers who line up for this maiden hurdle and there can’t have been that many Listed Flat winners to have run over hurdles at Sedgefield. The experience he gained at Wetherby will stand him in good stead here and he should be able to relegate Constancio to another runner-up slot having filled that position on his hurdling debut at Musselburgh. Baracalu looks booked for third barring any mishaps to the big two in the race although he’ll need to brush up his jumping. The Raven’s Return travels a long way to make his second hurdles start and drops in grade but he didn’t look keen last time and runs into some useful sorts here.
  1. Lord Yeats
  2. Constancio
  3. Baracalu
