Promising 11L third at Warwick (2m, good) on hurdling debut a month ago. Represents a top yard and improvement likely.
Bumper winner on heavy ground at Towcester in March. Had wind surgery since and has run well on both previous hurdles starts including when fifth over 2m5f at Warwick (good-to-soft) three weeks ago.
Placed twice in point-to-points but struggled since switching to Rules racing. Likely to be of more interest once tackling handicaps.
Decent fourth in a bumper at Haydock (heavy) earlier this month. Interesting to see how he fares on hurdling debut.
Dual AW winner over an extended 1m4f at Newcastle last year. Market support would be notable on hurdles and stable debut following an absence.
Third in a small field 2m6f maiden hurdle at Stratford (good) on Rules debut early last month. Well beaten subsequently however.
Good third in a heavy ground bumper at Chepstow in April. More needed switched to hurdles having finished well beaten in a similar race at Ffos Las a month ago.
Bumper winner in 2016 but returning from well over two years off the track when beaten 110L over an extended 3m1f at Hereford (good-to-soft) on hurdles debut last month.
Placed in a couple of bumpers including when 9L third on good ground here last time out. Interesting contender on hurdling debut.
Heavy ground point-to-point winner back in April. Fair fifth in a novice hurdle at Wetherby (good) on Rules debut early last month.
Struggled in three starts so far including over an extended 2m5f at Wetherby (soft) earlier this month. Others hold stronger claims.
Placed in a point-to-point and a bumper at Ballinrobe (2m1f, good) in spring 2017. Had wind surgery since and is worth a check in the market on stable and Rules debut.
held up when beaten 13L into fifth in a bumper on heavy ground at Market Rasen in April. Likely best watched on hurdling debut.
Fair sixth in a bumper at Bangor (good) when making her debut in May. Top jockey booked to ride for hurdles debut.
Forecasts
Captain Drake (13/8), Liosduin Bhearna (3/1), Sudden Destination (6/1), Bbold (6/1), Golden Sovereign (14/1), Chuffy Chuffnell (16/1), Pink Legend (25/1), Mayohill (25/1), Jot'em Down (25/1), The Bunnyman (25/1), Codeshare (50/1), Eyreshill (50/1), Cavalry Scout (66/1), My Turgeon (66/1)
CAPTAIN DRAKE has run well on both previous hurdles starts and with softer ground forecast to suit he can get off the mark in this competitive contest. Bbold represents a top yard and he is taken to claim second ahead of Sudden Destination who showed decent form when placed in an Irish bumper last year.
- Captain Drake
- Bbold
- Sudden Destination
