Appears to relish testing conditions (both wins on heavy) and showed his useful bumper form in a good light when making a winning hurdles debut over 2m4f at Ayr last month.
Bought for £16,000 in August 2018 (twice placed in Irish point-to-point's); improved on third start under rules to score over C&D last month when tackling this trip for the first time. More needed this time perhaps
Point-to-point winner, unfancied on rules bow at Newcastle last week, duly pulled up. Drops slightly in trip, plenty to be worked on.
Unconvincing record in point-to-points so far, back from a layoff for rules bow and looks best watched here.
Finished a tailed-off last of 14 on rules debut in an Aintree bumper in May 2016, then absent for more than 1400 days. Outran massive odds to be third over C&D on reappearance eight days ago, concern this might come rather quickly though.
Did win a point-to-point, but yet to show much under rules for current connections, and makes limited appeal having been tailed off at Doncaster last month.
Reasonable pedigree (dam an unraced half-sister to Skipthescales); finished 22L third behind Stoney Rover over C&D last time. Yard in good form.
Knocked down for £90,000 at Cheltenham in November 2017 as the winner of a maiden point-to-point for Gavin Cromwell. Well held recently at Doncaster (2m5f, good) on first hurdles test, may need a bit of time.
Forecasts
Highland Hunter (1/3), Stoney Rover (7/2), Weakfield (6/1), Cloghouge Boy (14/1), Toi Storey (25/1), Carry On Scorpion (33/1), Barfly (66/1), Nine O Three (125/1)
The top pair on the card both carry penalties for last-time-out success and the vote sits with C&D winner STONEY ROVER, who showed significant improvement for the step up to this trip and can find more. Useful bumper sort Highland Hunter made a winner start over timber at Ayr on heavy ground last month and should make a good contest of this. Toi Storey can grab some minor money having run well behind the selection last time.
