Both wins have come at Yarmouth, making all to justify prohibitive odds in June, and coming from off the pace to land a nursery there. Never competitive after a slow start at Salisbury in October, and cheekpieces tried after a break now.
Beaten on first five starts in nurseries, but made virtually all to regain winning thread at Kempton last time, posting a career best in the process. Had the run of things there, but impressive, and leading claims again.
Yet to improve on a promising debut at Chester, but type to do better now qualified for handicaps, and no surprise to see improvement on first start since being gelded.
Dug deep to gain first success on nursery debut at Southwell, and ran creditably when 4½L second of 12 to Woodside Wonder at Kempton last time. Now 6lb better off, but still has work to do if he's to reverse those placings.
Won a novice auction at Windsor in May, but well below that form on both subsequent starts. Gelded and given a long break since, so possible he'll begin to build on initial promise now.
Forecasts
Woodside Wonder (13/8), Blue Mountain (9/4), Times Past (10/3), Autumn Splendour (8/1), Seductive Moment (16/1)
WOODSIDE WONDER must be the selection after he won by a wide margin at Kempton last time from Times Past, for all there's a chance the margin of victory is a tad flattering given a well-judged ride. Times Past has work to do to reverse the form, and perhaps the recently gelded Blue Mountain will resume his progress and throw down the biggest challenge.
