Point-to-point winner (1-5 in that sphere) whose Rules form is a little underwhelming. 50-1 and pulled up on his return from a break over fences with his jumping not really standing up to the test and others appeal more.
Regressed from his return to action this season when he looked right on form with a poor run at Uttoxeter last time. He is a dual C& D winner though (won this race last year) and he should be competitive off this mark; could bounce back.
Free-going sort who usually runs up with the pace and has shown some of his best form over this C&D. Yet to win over fences however and could do with settling a little better; fell on his return but has claims off this sort of mark.
Likely to be the better fancied of the two the trainer runs in this although his overall jumps record reads 0-13. Would have had little chance on his chasing debut here in a novices' chase and handicapping for a respected yard will suit much better.
Hard to say he's a reformed character since joining this yard but they did manage to get a win out of this difficult sort on his penultimate start. Appeared to revert to type last time (lazy; runs in snatches) at Fakenham and hard to trust totally.
His hurdles form had been modest at best but fences appeared to bring out more of his ability when taking a good 2nd on chase debut last time at Ludlow off a 2lb lower mark. Needs to build on that but does have a basement mark to work with.
The fact that he's an 18 race jumps maiden is a worry but he's now shaped well on two starts for this yard despite failing to stay last time (2m5f). Travelled like the best horse in the race for some way and has a handicap mark that he can win off.
Cashed in on a falling mark when taking a 2m1f chase here in April on his 2nd run back from wind surgery but has found life tougher off increased marks since then. His runner-up slot on his penultimate run the product of others misfortune.
Most of his form over obstacles these days is of a poor nature with his sole win coming just over four years ago now. This looks another stiff task even with the first-time cheekpieces now reached for.

Chivers (2/1), Shintori (10/3), Finnegan's Garden (6/1), Show's Over (15/2), Champion Chase (8/1), Brother Bennett (10/1), Muilean Na Madog (10/1), Bolister (10/1), Upham Running (25/1), Iskrabob (40/1)
Only a low-grade chase but quite a competitive affair with SHINTORI the one who captures the interest most having travelled like a dream through his last race before his suspect stamina ran out over a galloping 2m5f at Exeter. He’s back over fences now and the fact that he’s still a maiden is a worry but off this mark he has to have a good chance. Chivers will find this a lot easier than taking on Kalashnikov last time in a novice chase here in a race where his stablemate Bolister fell at the first. Last years’ winner Finnegan’s Garden comes here off a mark 23lb higher than he won off then while Muilean Na Madog can’t be ignored after his Ludlow runner up effort.
