Made for fences and twice successful over them (for another yard) but a couple of recent runs blighted by errors and now blinkers given a go. Not out of it if cutting this mistakes out, but a bit risky at present.
Twice a winner in the spring but two recent outings have resulted in two non-completions. First start for new yard here but on recent evidence, can only be watched on ground plenty soft enough for her.
Back to form when successful at Ludlow on latest start, the re-application of cheekpieces [possibly responsible for that better effort, but 6lb higher for a short-head win looks enough and this ground not ideal either.
Not sighted on first couple of chase starts but a bit better at Chepstow last time, not thrashed over a trip probably too short. This looks more suitable and although he needs more, is unexposed. Watch the market for a clue.
Well into the veteran stage now, loves heavy ground and stays well but has often found less than expected off the bridle and sometimes finishes weakly. No great record fresh either and others readily make more appeal.
Winner on good ground at Huntingdon in May but a tale of woe since then, fell (when favourite) at Fakenham and pulled up last time. Heavy ground still asks a question and cheekpieces tried today look more in hope. Very risky.
Has plenty of form at this track (two wins and three places from 16 starts) and came back to a bit of form when second to Jepeck here latest, but finished tired there and yet to conclusively prove he wants this far. Chances all the same.
Stays very well in soft ground, so conditions fine, and showed he still knows how to win when gamely taking a chase at Chepstow in April. Not disgraced on recent run after a break and could run okay at a price here.
Forecasts
Steel Native (13/8), Sutter's Mill (7/2), Sideways (7/2), Cabragh (11/2), Astigos (14/1), Youngoconnor (16/1), Hansupfordetroit (20/1), Mrsrobin (25/1)
A few of these that are likely towards the head of the market have a few questions to answer, and a flyer is taken on ASTIGOS at a big price. He can make the odd mistake but these conditions are fine and he might be able to outstay these if avoiding errors. A recent run here showed he still had the ability and he can upset the applecart. Steel Native almost calls this place home and may give him most to do. Money for Sideways would make him more interesting than a few.
- Astigos
- Steel Native
- Sideways
