Dual winning point-to-pointer who is related to plenty of stayers and having showed some ability on her debut failed to progress last time at Wetherby. To be fair this trip will suit better and her future lies in staying handicap hurdles/chases.
The tongue-tie went on for the first time when she made her hurdles debut over 2m4f at Market Rasen and she should be better for that experience. Stoutly bred so likely to be seen to better advantage over this 3m trip.
Got off the mark on her 2nd start in Irish point-to-points (£45,000 purchase out of that sphere); lot to like about her Exeter hurdles debut (form working out well; winner won a Grade 2). Should appreciate this trip and definite player.
Refused when favourite for her sole point-to-point but has shown far more in bumpers; finished runner-up first couple of starts in that sphere. Ran below form last time and now steps up 1m in trip on her hurdles debut; bred to stay this far.
Cost £110,000 after winning her sole Irish point-to-point by 4L and has joined this stable having never run for Nicky Henderson. Her sole win was a while ago (February 2017) but she has been found a good opportunity on her Rules debut.
Winner of an AW bumper on her final start for Patrick Chamings when showing plenty of speed. Shaped as if she needed the experience on her hurdles debut at Bangor recently and takes a big step up in trip here; may need time.
Forecasts
Monbeg Zena (11/10), Berboru (3/1), Executive Capilano (7/2), Indian Opera (14/1), Oriental Cross (22/1), Bene Regina (22/1)
We have had to wait quite a while for the expensive purchase Monbeg Zena to make it to the track after winning her sole point-to-point but she is with a very capable yard and she’s unlikely to lack fitness. Berboru will be seen to better advantage over this trip having shaped well last time out her breeding suggesting she needs this trip at least. Despite finishing only 4th last time out EXECUTIVE CAPILANO is taken to go a few places better here and return the favour for a considerate introduction in a race that is working out well with the winner taking a Grade 2 hurdle recently.
- Executive Capilano
- Monbeg Zena
- Berboru
