Won on his debut here over 7f as a juvenile and has performed well on each subsequent start at the track (1432). Appreciated the return to the Tapeta last time plus the drop to 0-65 company when bouncing back to form last time (still a quirky sort).

Fairly useful handicapper in the past but still only has a debut win to his name and remains a maiden in handicaps. Not seen to best effect over C&D last time off a pedestrian gallop (bare form looks weak) and has work to do with Pammi on that run.

Looked to have reinvented himself at this trip last year winning twice over C&D off lower marks. Failed to repeat that level of form this year; disappointed here on his last Flat run but fared better over hurdles last time; hood off now, visor on.

Fair maiden who has disappointed here before but bounced back to form when 2nd to Pammi last time; did have the run of the race (needed to settle better). Not sure to repeat that performance here but it did prove her worth on this surface.

Three times a winner this year (twice on the AW and at this trip) she was back to her best last time over C&D (two of today's rivals behind). In essence that run can be marked up as she didn't have the run of the race and a leading contender again.

Best recent AW form has come on the Fibresand although he does have a C&D win to his name here off this mark back in 2016. His last two runs here have been creditable ones but it may well be a return to Southwell that sees him return to winning form.

A dual winner in bumpers back in 2015 he's been fairly lightly-raced since only switching to the Flat this year after an extended absence. Given three runs at 1m to gain a mark before being upped in trip for handicap debut (1m6f); ran poorly.

On a losing run that stretches back to July 2016; won off a mark of 78 there and has plummeted in the handicap since then. His latest run saw him take a step back in the right direction (not seen to best effect); capable if building on that run.

Dual hurdles winner for this yard but has yet to convince on the Flat (0-4) and was only recently returned to this sphere over 7f here; trip far too short. Looked laboured then after being slowly away and this trip is far more suitable; more needed.

Failed to show much when trained in Ireland; left the impression that there was more to come on her debut for this yard over 1m4f at Catterick. Attracted support on the back of that run but failed to build on any promise shown there; now back on AW.

Forecasts

Pammi (10/3), Lucky Robin (10/3), Visitant (11/2), British Art (13/2), Emperor Sakhee (7/1), Glasgon (10/1), Cross Swords (12/1), Dolphin Village (14/1), French Heroine (16/1), Glan Y Gors (20/1), Kilcoran (22/1)

Verdict

Three C&D winners plus another course winner take each other on here with PAMMI given the opportunity to confirm the form with French Heroine and Glan Y Gors from their last meeting here with the selection having done well to come from off the pace given the slow gallop. Dolphin Village and to a lesser extent Kilcoran have also shown glimmers of form of late which would make them interesting here if there was some market support. Visitant remains a capable sort although he’s less than straightforward and his finishing effort last time failed to convince.
  1. Pammi

  3. Dolphin Village
