Dual winner in France, form that isn't easy to assess but needs a good look on first run for new trainer. Could go well.

Punchestown bumper winner when last spotted in the spring, should be plenty more to come going over sticks. Likely sort.

Column Of Fire14

13/8
Navan bumper winner, highly-thought-of by connections seemingly, beaten favourite (third) over 2m2f here recently on hurdles bow. More to come.
4
Horse silk
80/1
Well held so far, can go handicapping after this run and appears an unlikely winner today.
Five-race maiden in point-to-points, failing to come close to breaking his duck. Big ask on rules bow.

100/1
Modest sort in point-to-points, failed to spark in two starts under rules back in the spring, one over fences, one over hurdles. Tough ask again.
7
Horse silk
100/1
Backmarker in maiden hurdles at Ballinrobe and Killarney in May, off the scene since and facing another uphill struggle unless major improvement is forthcoming.
Fair efforts so far in bumpers Down Royal and here, both over shorter trips. Reverts to hurdles over longer journey and must improve.
9
Horse silk
12/1
Good effort last time at Navan (2m4f, good) on second start when finishing fourth. May have place claims now, for all that a longer trip may be required in due course.
10
Horse silk
16/1
Relatively unfancied by this yard's standards on debut at this track in April and ran well down the field. Goes over timber and should be capable of better stuff before long.

School Boy Hours35
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Mark Walsh| T: N Meade| BF
5/2
Runner-up last month in Naas maiden hurdle over just shy of this trip on good to yielding ground. Has the experience after three starts and should be bang there again.
Stowaway gelding. Dam an above average hurdler, winner at 2m-2m4f over hurdles/chase. Poor so far and big chunk of improvement called for to be competitive on fourth start.
13
Horse silk
50/1
Poor in bumpers, marginally better in hurdles starts at Naas and Thurles (both 2m, good to yielding). Up in trip and needs to come forward for it.
14
Horse silk
100/1
100/1 poke and beaten a long way over 2m2f (good) here on hurdles bow a fortnight ago, leaving obvious need for improvement.
15
Horse silk
66/1
Big price and ran down the field on debut at Cork (2m, good to yielding) over timber last month. Must improve dramatically for that now stepped up in trip.

Swordsman271
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-3| J: D N Russell| T: G Elliott| BF
33/1
Disappointing favourite at Limerick (2m, heavy) in March in a bumper on debut. Second runner for Gordon Elliott in the field and should be capable of a better showing with champion jockey up.

Verdict

School Boy Hours was second last month at Naas and boasts the experience and form to be winning this. He'll surely run his race but he's well-found by the market. Navan bumper winner Column Of Fire didn't justify his market position on hurdles bow at this track but is not one to write off yet. Dunvegan improved last time to win a Punchestown bumper and goes on the shortlist reverting to this game. French import DOS GARDENIAS is tough to quantify on what he achieved but he needs respecting and could offer some value against the market principles.
  1. Dos Gardenias
  2. School Boy Hours
  3. Column Of Fire
