Won two of seven hurdles races, though seemingly flattered by rating of 152 in that sphere. Was back from 11 months off when failing to get past the second at Navan on chasing bow and jumping remains the primary worry.
Not seen since February but was an improving 133-rated hurdler by then. Market possibly best guide on chasing debut and return to action.
Point-to-point winner, won a Cork bumper (2m3f, heavy) on rules bow in April, changed hands over the summer and tailed off on chase bow at Naas (2m3f, good) last month.
Solid and consistent finishing positions over hurdles since May including a well-deserved win at Downpatrick in August and placed efforts since at Clonmel and Galway. Goes chasing having run below best at Punchestown last month.
Two wins and two falls from seven starts hurdles, achieving a rating of 134 along the way. Beaten 29L in beginners' chase at Navan last month, more needed.
Signs of ability over the larger obstacles in beginners contests at Ballinrobe and Limerick in May. Entitled to have needed C&D run in a decent novice contest last month. Can go better now.
Modest point-to-pointer, tailed off in two recent starst under rules and looks a forlorn hope dropped back in trip now.
Two wins in six starts over timber, though form modest in comparison to some of these rivals. Failed to meet expectations in both chase starts, latest over 2m at Clonmel earlier this month. Jury remains out for now.
Forecasts
Campeador (5/4), Roaring Bull (3/1), Paris Texas (11/2), Castafiore Park (7/1), Indian Monsoon (10/1), Sanibel Island (20/1), Judkin (25/1), School Lane (40/1)
Campeador comes out best on hurdles rating but he was prone to accidents in that sphere and again came to grief on his chase bow at Navan. It would be brave to take a short price on him now, though he clearly has plenty ability. Stablemate Roaring Bull is a potential improver after one chase start and was also a decent hurdler. SANIBEL ISLAND has shown promise already over fences and might just have needed the run over C&D last time. With no standout candidate, he earns the vote. Indian Monsoon and Judkin are worth monitoring.
- Sanibel Island
- Roaring Bull
- Judkin
