Inconsistent, but this is his grade and he was a decisive Taunton winner (heavy) in April, when just 3lb lower. Well below that level on both starts since, however, so needs to bounce right back.

Blue Bullet31
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: G Sheehan| T: Jamie Snowden| OR:  105
3/1
Nine-race maiden who returned from almost 11-months off to run well at Lingfield (2m4f, soft) last month. 2lb drop should help, and slight drop in trip could too. Enters calculations.

Frankie Balloup,h19
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-10| J: Danny Cook| T: Miss J E Foster| OR:  103
28/1
Ran up a hat-trick exclusively at Sedgefield earlier in the year, all at 2m½f, on testing ground. Is 5lb higher than the last of those wins, and although he hasn't completed since, he is not dismissed here now back at this trip.

Glance Backt45
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-6| J: Jamie Bargary| T: Mrs E Bishop| OR:  99
5/2
Scored at Leicester (2m, soft) in February, when 3lb lower. Held over C&D from 1lb higher on his reappearance, but may be able to kick on again now, on his second run after wind surgery.

Won at both Plumpton and Ffos Las on soft/heavy in April. Up another 4lb for this hat-trick attempt, so will probably need further improvement. Record when fresh nothing to write home about, so has one or two things to prove.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-13| J: Billy Garritty(10)| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  92| D
14/1
Another Sedgefield specialist, though he has won at several other tracks. 6lb below his last winning mark from March here, plus 10lb being claimed. Badly out of sorts so far this season, but softer ground positive and he is not written off.

Blackjacktennesseeh45
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-6| J: T J Phelan| T: S Flook| OR:  91
9/1
Nine-race maiden who drops 5lb here, as well as in trip. Hard to enthuse too much about his chance.

Horse silk
Miss Amelia23
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-1| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M Walford| OR:  80
5/1
Unable to make any impact for over a year, including on her first start after a wind op at Hexham last month. Best watched.

Forecasts

Glance Back (5/2), Blue Bullet (3/1), Miss Amelia (5/1), Lickpenny Larry (6/1), Blackjacktennessee (9/1), Exmoor Mist (12/1), Roxyfet (14/1), Frankie Ballou (28/1)

Verdict

Blue Bullet looks the one for those wanting a solid option in this contest, though he is a maiden and may not be the 'good thing' he might look. Glance Back may be capable of a bit better, so he could go close, while Frankie Ballou is another potential contender now dropped back in trip, after failing to complete last time. Exmoor Mist needs to be somewhere near his best and a chance is taken on ROXYFET, who is on a handy mark, loves to get his toe in, and with a very useful 10lb claimed here, he could get his season back on track.
