Cost €41,000 as a three-year-old and dropped significant hints of ability in a handful of bumpers. Bred to be more effective with obstacles in the way and noteworthy he comes such a long way to make his bow over hurdles. Well worth considering.
Winners over both hurdles and fences in his bloodlines and a bonus that he's already tasted success in the point-to-point sphere. Made no impression in three previous starts over timber though, which leaves him with a lot to prove now.
Ran well on debut in a bumper at Perth; got to within half a length of Doctor Dex and has to be respected on that effort. A literal reading of that form (was in receipt of 5lb) says he has improvement to find to get one over on his old rival.
Swapped hands for £95,000 as a three-year-old and has already shown promise over hurdles when he was third at Kempton behind a Nicky Henderson-trained hop-pot. Likely there's a lot more to come and is highly respected being from an in-form yard.
Forecasts
Thibault (10/11), Doctor Dex (11/4), Nefyn Point (11/2), Get Out The Gate (13/2)
Experience may be a telling factor if any rain (brief showers are predicted) gets into the ground and, with that in mind, it may be worth chancing a small investment on THIBAULT taking a step forward from what was a promising bow over hurdles at Kempton last month. Doctor Dex was just ahead of Nefyn Point when they met in a bumper in October and he looks the better bet to emerge as the best of the rest this time.
- Thibault
- Doctor Dex
- Nefyn Point
