Has winning form in Irish point-to-points and some fair form to his name over hurdles although his overall record in that sphere stands at 0-6. Now switches to fences on the back off a Cheltenham run in a race that proved too competitive.

Was plummeting down the weights (without any success) prior to being giving a break and returning to action off a career-low mark (won off 130). Although he failed to complete on return he was well backed and he looks thrown in for a yard going well.

Looks to have just one effort on his hurdling CV that entitles him to say he has ability and he faced a stiff task switched to fences last time. 100-1 chance against some useful types he was easily brushed aside (showed some aptitude for fences).

Failed to win in bumpers/over hurdles but there was confidence in the market for his chasing debut which he failed to justify. Dropped just 1lb and with first-time cheekpieces he was able to show that confidence was right when winning at Southwell.

Has on a couple of occasions shaped better than the distance he's been beaten by most recently on his chasing debut in March (is a three-time point-to-point winner). Has twice disappointed since then; return after a wind op off a career-low mark.

Yet to win a race of any sort over jumps failing to capitalise on a steadily falling handicap mark; dropped a further 2lb for his reappearance. Will have come on for that run and now makes his chase debut; needs others to underperform.

0-11 in the jumping sphere he's another in this field that is being given help by the handicapper but failing to take advantage. Easy to back last time he appeared to run well enough but his attitude looks suspect; now makes his chase debut.

Has on occasions flashed some ability over fences but with an overall record of 0-13 in his chasing career his profile is far from a solid one. Ran close to his best last time over 2m4f but struggles to stay this trip and others appeal more.

Chase debutante who has looked as though he could be competitive off this mark over hurdles but remains a maiden (0-10). Some of his form gives him a chance but arrives on the back of a laboured effort which failed to encourage.

Starts her second run over fences from 6lb out of the handicap having had an impossible task last time in a novice chase here over 2m3f up against some useful types. Will have more chance here but needs to run off her correct mark to be considered.

Forecasts

Boughtbeforelunch (7/2), The Boss's Dream (5/1), Eaton Miller (11/2), Dalkadam (6/1), Tanacando (8/1), Lord Getaway (17/2), Arthur's Reuben (9/1), Stonebrigg Legend (9/1), Blackmill (11/1), Fearsome Fred (25/1), Over The Arch (33/1)

Verdict

A rather mixed bag with some having had chasing experience up against five making their debuts over fences. Boughtbeforelunch was able to show that his fencing debut was all wrong at Southwell last time jumping much better than on his debut and he along with Over The Arch who showed some aptitude for fences on his stiff debut are two to consider. Both Blackmill and Tanacando are handed an opportunity by the handicapper off career-low marks to prove their worth. THE BOSS’S DREAM really ought to be able to win this though of a mark that looks an insult on his old form. He shaped well enough last time out and with the excellent Bryony Frost taking the ride can bounce back to form here.
