Got off the mark over C&D off a 5lb lower mark following a couple of near misses since joining this yard. Tough ask from new mark and high draw.

6/1
One from three over C&D with the sole win coming in March 2016 off a 10lb higher mark. Regressing, but worth a market check on second start for new yard.

Nothing of note in four starts for Simon Crisford. Last seen finishing third of 16 in a class 3 contest in October. Market likely to be best guide here.

Running well in defeat in a couple of starts since joining this yard. May need a little more relief from the handicapper before serious consideration.

76-rated handicapper for trainer-Paul Cole and possibly best watched on stable debut. One to note for the winter months but tough draw here.

One place effort from two starts over C&D but without a win in six AW starts. Usually held up in his races, leaving himself too much to do in the closing stages.

AW stalwart but has been well held in four starts here in the past. Worth a market check, could be of interest on first start for new yard.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-5| J: C P Hoban| T: A McGuinness| OR:  71
16/1
82-rated handicapper in the spring for trainer Paul Midgley. Well held on stable debut last month, usually seen over 6f and this looks a tough ask from the draw.

Won on debut as a youngster and highly tried as result afterwards. Not won since his juvenile season but not too many miles on the clock. Possibly best watched on AW debut.

C&D winner on first start over the combination last month beating Ar Saoirse 1¼L. Came from a disadvantaged draw that day, clearly in good heart and can go well once again.

Rated-62 earlier in the summer when in the hands of trainer Kevin Ryan. Can be forgiven stable debut last month when sixth of 13 and one to watch for any market move.

Two from 15 at this venue, last win coming here in May off a 4lb lower mark. Third of nine beaten 3¼L on latest start last month. Plenty to prove at present.

No extra inside final furlong on course debut last month over 6f when finishing sixth of 14. Could be a different proposition over this trip and holds leading claims here.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-4| J: K J Leonard(3)| T: L Comer| OR:  46
33/1
Yet to win in seven AW starts and looks up against it on these terms, shoved up by the handicapper for a respectable effort at Navan in October. Last of 12 here last week and others preferred in current form.

Forecasts

Excellently Poised (6/1), Polly Douglas (6/1), Kasbah (6/1), Amanaat (7/1), Stanhope (10/1), Nigg Bay (10/1), May Remain (10/1), Dance Alone (12/1), Laughton (12/1), Teddy Boy (14/1), Ty Rock Brandy (16/1), Mister Trader (16/1), Hee Haw (16/1), Joules (33/1)

Verdict

The mare POLLY DOUGLAS won over C&D last month and can come on for that success despite the 5lb rise in the weights. The five-year-old can see off the attentions of another last time out C&D winner, Amanaat and the former Simon Crisford trained, Stanhope. Distance winner Nigg Bay and ex-Kevin Ryan five-year-old, Laughton are worthy of consideration.
  1. Polly Douglas
  2. Amanaat
  3. Stanhope
