Yet to win over fences but arrives here on the back of three straights seconds and fell when going well here the time before. Handicapper keeps the pressure on but a bold bid seems assured and deserves a change in luck.
Classy sort for Willie Mullins earlier in career has won twice this term at Fontwell and Plumpton. Well beaten fourth back at Fontwell latest suggested handicapper now has his measure and jockey today winless in last 64 rides.
Lone chase success came in a Ffos Las seller in the summer but placed in three of four since that. 18L second at Ffos Las on return although booked for third until second fell at the last. Again has each-way potential here with fitness now boosted.
Far from prolific (won twice since leaving France in February 2015) but comes here on the back of three placed efforts including thirds off this mark the last twice at Ludlow and Hereford. Again should be in the thick of things here.
18-race maiden but placed in four of his seven chase starts. Third first time out and fourth latest at Ludlow not far from the requisite level here so expected to go well now.
Heavy ground course winner last December achieved little in four subsequent starts. Well beaten on return until refusing at the last and she now makes limited appeal particularly given her advancing years.
None from 13 over fences and most recent win of any sort came in August 2016. Form this season saw him twice beaten 24L before being completely tailed off latest. Easy to pass over.
Forecasts
Baron Du Plessis (5/2), Alf 'n' Dor (7/2), Boy In A Bentley (9/2), Polo The Mumm (11/2), Cernunnos (11/2), Turban (10/1), Just Spot (25/1)
There would be few more deserving winners than BOY IN A BENTLEY after a whole host of second placed efforts including his last three and this looks a good opportunity for him to finally go one better in an ordinary affair. Like the selection Cernunnos and Alf 'n' Dor are regular bridesmaids but both have genuine possibilities here in a race where recent wins are few and far between.
