11-race Flat maiden (56-rated); started 40/1 when posting a moderate hurdles debut (lacked fluency throughout) in a 2m mares' novices' hurdle at Musselburgh last week; quickly eased in grade.

Sold cheaply (£1,200) from the Dan Skelton yard in July having seemingly lost his way after winning at Southwell (2m, good) in May; very risky proposition based upon a poor debut effort for this trainer.

8/1
Still without a win over hurdles (0-6) and has been switched back to the Flat (66-rated) more latterly; difficult to envisage exactly where, when and how any further improvement could be forthcoming, but not discounted in a weak race.
Lowly-rated on the Flat (39) and has been unable to muster any worthwhile form since winning back-to-back 1m2f contests in mid to early 2017 (Class 6 & 7); hurdles debut.

Carried out over C&D on hurdles debut in October 2017 and has truthfully cut little ice over timber since; remains a 16-race maiden under rules.

0-18 on the Flat (40-rated); behind and struggling from halfway on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter (2m, maiden) last month; not considered.

Off the track since July and hasn't achieved much of note thus far; very marginal improvement when dropped back to this trip (plugged on) at Worcester, albeit beaten in excess of 30+L.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-1| J: James Bowen| T: Christian Williams| OR:  100
10/11
Off the mark at the 18th attempt over hurdles when pushed out to beat Rule The Ocean by 4L in a 2m5f mares' handicap at Warwick (soft) six days ago; fair chance in a weak race if not inconvenienced by dropping back in trip.

Let's Swayh,t50
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-1| J: David England| T: O Murphy| OR:  115| BF
11/8
Bought out of a Stratford seller for £11,500 (ex Tracey Barfoot-Saunt); provided mixed messages in two hurdles starts for this trainer, and it's a concern as to how she'll handle the ground if rain arrives; that said, does set the standard on form.
10
Horse silk
100/1
Stablemate of Field Exhibition; cost a mere £600 in March 2017 (formerly with Chris Grant) and has shown no worthwhile form thus far; not considered.

Forecasts

Field Exhibition (10/11), Let's Sway (11/8), Take The High Road (8/1), Nowheretoexit (10/1), Spader (33/1), Lassana Angel (50/1), May Mist (50/1), Bridal March (50/1), Pot De Fleur (100/1), Street Art (100/1)

Verdict

A very low-key opener in which the 115-rated Let's Sway is the form pick for Olly Murphy. However, she's far from banker material, so it's definitely worth keeping a close eye on the weather conditions with plenty of rain rain forecast (as much as 20mm) with a view to taking her on at predicted short odds. FIELD EXHIBITION was a winner over further (2m5f) at Warwick last week for the doubly-represented Christian Williams, and although this sharp right-handed track mightn't prove totally ideal, a deluge of rainfall ahead of racing would enhance her chances enormously over this much reduced trip.
  1. Field Exhibition
  2. Take The High Road
  3. Let's Sway
