Outpaced from halfway on handicap bow at Brighton over extended 5f in October and may do better at this longer trip. Much more needed but has been dropped 3lb.
Won over C&D in March off 7lb higher mark but has run poorly on all three starts since returning from summer break. Potentially well handicapped if he can bounce back but has a point to prove at present.
Is 3-5 at this track including one success over C&D. Returns from break and has tended to need a run or two to hit peak form, but certainly worth a market check with yard in decent shape.
Won Kempton 5f juvenile event last year for Mark Johnston but disappointed most starts this term and joined current handler in July. Tailed off only start since and now returns from wind surgery so looks a risky proposition.
Won over C&D in January off 3lb lower mark and returns here from summer break having been gelded following two poor runs on turf. Worth checking for any market interest though.
Landed Ripon 6f juvenile novice event on soft ground last term. Has failed to shine in 2018 and dropped a total of 16lb without success. Not particularly well drawn and has plenty to do.
Previous C&D winner when trained by Richard Fahey. Has shown little in five starts since late-summer for new connections and dropped 13lb but hinted he might be on way back with better run at Chelmsford last time. Not out of it.
Six-race maiden by Declaration Of War, cost €90,000. Hasn't shown a great deal this term and eased a total of 9lb. Yard ticking over nicely and not one to give up on just yet.
Landed Wolverhampton 7f novice event last term and showed first sign of return to form when fair fourth in first-time blinkers at that track recently. Headgear remains and eased 1lb so may not be at all far away.
Led close home over trip in Chelmsford handicap penultimate start but not so good last time at Kempton. Has claims though if on song and rider's claim helps the cause.
Trained by Charlie Appleby in early days before moving to race in Hong Kong where comprehensively outclassed. Not seen for 571 days but only previous win came over C&D. Debut for new yard and will probably need the run.
Won at Brighton (7f) last year for Luca Cumani. Promising first run on AW when 4th at Kempton in October but faded fast here over a mile last time. Drops in trip but needs to raise his game.
Won at Kempton (7f) earlier this year off 4lb lower mark but has looked out of touch in two starts since returning from summer break. Hard to fancy on recent evidence.
Six of seven AW wins have come over this C&D, most recently in April off 1lb lower mark. Ran better than finishing position indicates when 10th here last time on first run back from break so a bold show is not out of the question.
Forecasts
Inaam (9/4), Global Humor (11/2), Dollar Value (7/1), In The Red (7/1), Fiery Breath (12/1), Showmethedough (14/1), Clement (14/1), Wilson (16/1), Ventriloquist (16/1), Kafeel (16/1), Ripley (16/1), Knockout Blow (16/1), Oneovdem (33/1), Frozen Lake (33/1)
A race of generally disappointing handicappers so a chance is taken that course specialist CLEMENT can build on a fairly promising effort last time out. Any market support for Inaam would be interesting as he hinted he may be coming back to form recently, while the likes of Kafeel, Global Humor, and Dollar Value are others who could figure if in the mood.
