Horse A-Z
Winner of lone start, an Auteuil novice hurdle back in May 2017 before joining these connections. That race contained We Have A Dream, a five-time including Grade One winner back in fourth so form solid. Long absence but can't be underestimated.

Placed point-to-pointer made a pleasing start under rules as he won a three-runner contest at Uttoxeter although the 1/16F fell when in front. Suspect this will demand more but could do little more than he did.

Dual bumper winner before finishing midfield in Champion Bumper at the festival. Very pleasing start over hurdles where he cruised to success in a 16-runner Chepstow maiden. Looks a very exciting prospect and will be hard to beat here.

Classy 84-rated dual flat winner over 1m4f and 1m5f. Race fit having run as recently as three weeks back but this a tough spot with all of his rivals having experience over hurdles so jumping will be severely tested.

Very useful in French bumpers winning three times at up to 1m7f. Fair start at Ayr when he seemed to tired in the heavy ground eventually finishing fourth beaten 26L. More to come going forward but big improvement required here.

40/1
82-rated maiden winner for Hugo Palmer in 2017 won in the French provinces this summer but failed to sparkle on hurdles bow at Newbury when too keen and 15th of 16. Ran better than bare form suggests but leap of faith required here.

Forecasts

The Big Bite (1/2), Demopolis (3/1), Darksideoftarnside (7/1), Diocese (40/1), Fibonacci (40/1), Noble Warrior (80/1)

Verdict

THE BIG BITE was a smart bumper performer and this son of top jumps sire Scorpion looks set to be even better over hurdles based on his smooth success at Chepstow. The potential fly in the ointment is Demopolis who won what has worked out to be a very warm contest in his only start in France back in April 2017. His fitness is the obvious doubt after such an absence but he still rates the best alternative to the selection. Noble Warrior was perhaps somewhat fortunate on his hurdles debut but as a recent winner he too has claims.
  1. The Big Bite
  2. Demopolis
  3. Noble Warrior
