Useful stayer on the Flat (with Jim Bolger) won twice at Navan over staying trips (furthest 1m5f) the last occasion a handicap off 83. Had the run of the race there and looks better since being gelded; can be keen and needs to settle; hurdles debut.
Dual point-to-point winner in Ireland winning both starts in decent fashion who has had just the one run under Rules in a Uttoxeter bumper. Well supported he travelled well until inexperience told; bred for further (2m looks sharp around here).

Has so far shown very little in three bumper runs beating just three rivals home so far and finishing well held on each occasion. Hard to think that he's going to take giant strides forward here as he goes hurdling for the first time.

Capable Flat performer who has won handicaps off marks up to 85; given a tough test in a German Listed contest last time. Given another try over hurdles having disappointed as an odds-on favourite last year; best from the front, capable of better.
Hurdles debutant who looked to show some promise on her Perth bumper debut but needed the experience and a greater test. Failed to match that form last time at Carlisle in a deeper race but may pick up a small hurdle in time with experience on board.

Verdict

There probably isn’t much to choose between the two ex-Flat horses in CONSTANCIO and Tor with the former having the slight edge and he looks as though he could be a decent recruit to the McCain team having cost 40,000 guineas in the summer after winning at Navan on the level. Tor needs respecting having run well on the Flat this summer and he’s worth another try over obstacles having previously blotted his copybook in this sphere. Dual point-to-point winner Kensukes Kingdom obviously has ability but may just need the experience and given his pedigree and background may just lack a little pace against the two ex-Flat racers.
  1. Constancio
  2. Tor
  3. Kensukes Kingdom
